Thx to all reply, the live aboard was the Philippine Siren, a great boat and I have been on many. I have video of this boat if you want to send your email.

You're right on the money about locations of the sardines and the whale sharks. We did this from the live aboard, but you could schedule from Turtle Bay Resort located in Moalboal. They have a great website if you Google that name.

We did 15 dives out of Moalboat with Turtle Bay Resort and 12 days on the Siren with 45 dives

Thxs, there are many hundred different nudis in the sea. I'll post a few more in the Under Water Forum. UHH doesn't like it when I post them on their main forum.

Thxs, they are a big favorite of the South Pacific. I have shot 6 or 7 different species of anemone fish. I'll try to throw up a few more next few days.

The same reason for no strobes on whale shark dive is the concern they would move away from a very lucrative business . I did a snorkel because they feed on the surface and with plenty of sunshine, I could get within a few feet of them. The warning was to stay 12' away, but hard to maintain that distance with so many of them swimming from fisherman boats who fed them. We got on site at 6:30am, but by 7:30 there were bus loads of snorkelers in the water from resorts all over the area.

Thxs for compliments. The reason for no strobes on thrasher shark dive are their sensitive very large eyes. They hunt and live deep, then come up to a cleaning station at about 100' early morning and then go deep again when sun is up. No strobes because they are concerned the flash would drive them away from this particular cleaning station which is a big cash draw for the operators.

One dive with Thrasher sharks, but at 100' and no strobes allowed, could not focus camera, so only a great memory. The sardine run was crazy, see diver in pic for reference. Then whale shark dive was another wide angle opportunity.

Just completed 2 weeks on leave aboard and one week at land based operation. Over 1,000 pics and still editing. I'll post a few macro here and start another topic with wide angle.

I agree with chose, I use Nikon D7000 with Ikelire housing and strobes. But if you go down to 30', my wife, a snooker uses a Cannon point and shoot with waterproof housing and takes great shots. You can get them under $500.

Had a Japanese diver on last trip who took his cell phone down to 30' using some sort of flexible plastic housing that looked like a zip lock bag.

Nice shot of nude, to get the negative space behind it did you shoot at f20 plus ?

Great detail, did you shoot them on top of lexan with a torch underneath ? Looks like a technique one of my dive guides did in Anilao Philippines.
