PC Desktop, running Windows 10. And this is a computer pretty well devoted to graphics work. Office and other misc applications are on a second computer. It should not be too cluttered with renegade dll files, but who knows in the land of Microsoft?
Several times a day I have to reboot Lightroom Classi after the window has been minimized or the computer nods off into quiet mode. "Lightroom is not responding" puts me into reboot limbo. I am running Windows 10, LR Classic, and I keep hoping the occasional updates will fix this bug. Adobe tech support has been unable to resolve this. Anyone else experiencing this issue and have recommendations?

Everyone is warning you about the weather. A lot of that depends on which month you visit. Some are wetter than others. Some are stellar. The Nikon 900 series should give you great versatility toward both wide and zoom options. I personally am a bit leary of using too wide an angle for landscapes. Great for getting the "big picture" as a reference, and then a series of close ups to really capture the detail of the bounty you are beholding. If you get to see wildlife, you want the zoom. If you come to Haines, I can work with you on all these aspects, and help you with a tripod set up for those noble eagles. Haines or not, you will have a GREAT trip and you may want to come back! https://timenspace.net/photography-workshop/haines-private-tour/
What's the difference between a professional photographer and a 14-inch pizza? ........ The pizza can feed a family of four.

If you are coming to Haines, I do offer private photography day tours. Most folks find Haines to be the highlight of their trip. Feel welcome to contact me with general questions too, regardless. https://timenspace.net/photography-workshop/haines-private-tour/
I have yet to have a good experience with Adobe technical support. My current issue: almost every time I minimize LR Classic CC, it crashes (Not responding) when I bring it back up again, and I have to restart the program. Quite a bit of time spent with Adobe on the phone to no avail.
I bought mine from Best Buy and had it in short order, for the same price as the NYC stores.
And what would a pellet gun do to a 300 lb black bear? (And hey, bears have to eat too!)

Stuck polarizers are tricky - I've found the best way is to heat them up with a hair dryer - they come right off.
I find that thick rubber band around the lens (to act as a grip when I need it) is a lot handier than a hair dryer in my camera bag.
I keep a thick rubber band around my lens that I can put around the filter when I need to in order to improve the grip. Works every time.
