I'm missing something. When you bid and buy on Greentoe aren't you getting a new USA product from an authorized seller including the manufacturer's warranty?

You are correct when buying on Greentoe. You do get the Full USA authorised warranty from manufacturer.

Now this looks pretty good but it took them a little bit to long as I already bought the Sigma 100-400. The Sigma works very well on both my Nikon bodies D500,D750. Out of the box it is sharp threw out the range. Mine came with the Tap in console but have not used it. My only complaint is on the Black Rapid strap it hangs down. I also have the Tamron 70-200 G2 and it on the Black Rapids hangs perfectly on the tripod collar. The price I got on the Sigma 100-400 with console was $749. Thought it was very good on price point.

I bought the Sigma 100-400mm for Nikon from Digital Goya threw Amazon. The package I got also included Sigma USB Dock for Nikon plus other products. Before I bought from them I had questions and they responded in less then 1 hour to all my questions. After purchasing the lens Sigma dropped the price by $50. In 1 call to Digital Goya to ask for a consideration of price they refunded $50 to my payment method. They are an Outstanding Company to do business with and are fully Authorized Dealer. They also have You-Tube channel. They are in Miami Florida.

I have tried B&H and Adorama and found there offers to be on the low side. I have also used KEH and Cameta Camera and found there offers higher then B&H or Adorama. I sold KEH my Nikon D7100 and Cameta Camera my Tamron 70-200 generation 1 and was satisfied on there offers and quick payments.

They are an excellent company. Bought my Nikon D750 with the 24-120 F4 from them also my 28-300mm Nikon lens. There shipping is great and very quick had my purchases within 48 hours. Also they pack the equipment extremely well protected. They are as good as the ABC company's.

On Nikon DSL camera's VR is controlled by the lens not camera. I have not seen or know of a Nikon DSL lens that does not have a VR on/off switch. Unless Nikon has a brand new lens system I would believe your 18-55 lens has no VR.
I am certain you will be satisfied with your new Tamron 70-200mm G2. I'm looking forward to owning one sometime this year for my Nikon. Yes, a 6 year warranty is nice to have. And I've been told that Tamron honors all those years, if you have proof of purchase. My post was not to say this G2 lens was better than Nikon's or Canon's best 70-200mm. I was saying it was affordable. That's all.

My sister who also owns the Nikon 70-200 VRII version feels like you do that OEM is the way to go. That being said we both were at the zoo and after much coaxing she switched with me for the Tamron. The Nikon definitely had better built quality and focusing was quicker then the Tamron. Now when we went back and download the photos both of us could not tell which lens photo we were looking at. Only way for us to tell was looking at the lens profile on Lightroom. For me paying $1400 for generation 1 against her paying $2200 for VRII was the only way for me to own a 70-200 F/2.8.

I sold my older version Tamron 70-200 F2.8 DI VC USD about 3 weeks ago after pre ordering the new version Tamron 70-200 F2.8 DI VC USD G2.It arrived on Monday. The older version I had for 3 years and it was my go to lens. Its photos were sharp and it performed extremely well. Now this is the first time I ever bought a pre order. Always wanted to see what people thought of it and if any bugs were showing up before I bought into it. The reviews on the 150-600 G2 are so good that this time what the hell got 6 year warranty on it. First impressions are the new won is built stronger then the old one was and the old one was built well. I only took a few indoor shots to see how the D750 and D500 handle it. It focused extremely well and faster then g1. Hope to take it out on Saturday at the Bronx Zoo to really see it at work.
for stills, landscape, and general photography, you cannot beat a full frame d750 camera. for action, sports, wildlife, the crop sensor is the way to go. I own both the d750 and the d500, and they both get used a lot. if you shoot a lot of action photography, I would suggest you pick the d500. when you buy lenses for the camera, stay will full frame lenses, and when you feel the need to add the d750, or what may be in the future for a replacement, you will not need to start over with buying lenses. you will have a much higher investment in glass than in camera bodies, so stick with fx lenses and you will always be able to use them no matter which body you purchase in the future.[/quote/]

I also own both and use both equally. They compliment each other perfectly but if I could only have one of them for now I would go for the D500. The reason is most of what I shoot the Bronx Zoo the 500 is perfect for. Both camera's are great in low light and handle noise very well. You will have to add a flash/speedlight if you go with the D500. Also when purchasing glass for either camera go with the full frame version.

Another bag worth checking out is the Lowpro Flipside 500aw. It will carry a full frame with a 70-200 2.8 attached and have plenty of room for another body and multiple lens. One feature I like is the bag main compartment is against your back. Nobody can open it up from behind you. Price should be about $136.

I bought twice from GreenToe first time was the Nikon D750 with 24-120 f4 saved $260 on purchase. The next purchase was a Nikon D500 saved $125. Both purchases came from authorised US dealers with full warranty registed with Nikon. You can expect to save about 5 persent.

Nikon 18-300 with 6.3 considerably less expensive than the 5.6. Seems like a fair price for both to me.

Thank you for knowing the difference between the 18-300 f3.5-5.6 and the 18-300 f3.5-6.3.
