From our recent trip to Glacier National Park.

Hoary Marmot (it's in the rodent family with huge front teeth)

Adult Mountain Goat shedding his winter coat (near Logan Pass)

Baby Mountain Goat (there were 2 of them and they were butting heads, it was so cute)

Big Horn Sheep (parking lot at Logan Pass, he was charging at people if they got too close)

Nobody mentioned the Nikon D300. I have one and it has all the bells and whistles you would need or want. It's a well built sturdy camera and takes great pictures. I see used ones all over the place in the $750-800 range. Then you would have some left over for a lens.

I actually cropped both these picture a little tighter in Lightroom. Why is the whole picture showing?

With my Nikon D300 I can only take bracketed shots 1 stop apart so I took a series of 9 shots and used -4 -2 0 +2 +4 to create this shot in Photoshop CS5. I liked the color of the red barn and the old fashioned fence.

I've been thinking about getting Nik Efex HDR Pro 2 because it works with Lightroom and I like all the examples I've seen so far with this software. Thanks for the comparison pictures.

Going to New England in September for foliage. Currently have Nikon 18-55 lens kit and Tamron 70-300 lens on my D3200. Thinking about a more diverse 'walk-around' lens, something with more range but not as heavy at the Tamron. Looked at Nikon 16-105. Have read reviews on lots of options but want opinions from folks in the field. Any recommendations, pros/cons, does/don'ts will be welcomed.

I just got the 18-300 VR lens (so I'm selling my 18-200mm VR lens) but it's heavy. It's a good weight lens for a heavy camera like my Nikon D300. However, I also have a Nikon D40 (which is light weight like your D3200) and it's too heavy for this camera. I upgraded the 18-55mm kit lens on the D40 to an 18-105mm VR lens. The picture quality is good and it is the right weight and feels good on the Nikon D40. I find that it is really all I need when I travel. I would recommend you get the 18-105 VR lens for your camera.

Our boys will be 3 yrs old next month. They are half Shih-tzu and half Minature Schnauzer. We rescued them from the vets office where they were taken at 3 days of age. Their mother had a litter of 8 puppies and ate 4 of the puppies before the remaining four were taken away from her.

give us some pets

This is our darling Charlie Nelson wanting to eat at the table with us.

I love it! My husband had a dog when I met him that used to sit at the table and eat breakfast with him on Sunday mornings. He also used to sleep in the bed with him. Not on the foot of the bed on top of the blanket, but under the blanket with his head on a pillow like a person. When we first got married this dog slept between us and tried to push me off the bed every night!

The first Thanksgiving I spent with the in-laws was an eye opener. The sister-in-law held her dog on her lap during dinner and would feed this dog bites of food off her fork and drinks of milk out of her glass.

Animals really are members of the family on my husbands side of the family.

So sorry for your loss. I consider pets to be a part of the family and it's very difficult and sad to lose a pet.
