At last it stood still!!!!!!!!

I have been after a shot of a calf for a long time. When you approach they are naturally inquisitive and they stand very still to inspect you and to see if you are bringing food. Three bracketed shots always show up tiny movements though, usually around the mouth of a flick of the ear. But not this time. This one stayed absolutely still even down to the hairs on the chin. Hope you like it

I In my excitement at getting three bracketed shots I broke my own rule of living with a pic for a few days. Having looked at again today I brightened it and reduced the saturation of the green on the pieces of wood which frame the calf. I think I like it better but maybe a little too far on the brightening. Feedback very welcome.

Nice shot Peter ... both versions are good in my opinion. Only you know whether or not the greens were realistic in the first version ... did not seem too green to me.

To much red in the second one. So I guess I would go with the first one, with just a little brightening in the shawdows. Amazing that you were abe to get this shot.

I am more attracted to the bighter image but would like the top, bright bits cropped off to just below that little red flower. Great work.

Yeah I had toyed with that aswell but was drawn to the square crop. But I have tried it out. I cropped the top and a smidge on the left to put the eye right on the thirds intersection. I like it.

Much better Peter. How about a little bit more off the top - to the brown bits in the background - and cloning out the white spots above the head, near the left front leg and the light square on the right? I know, I'm a perfectionist!

A huge big smile on my face. You are guiding me through the process I normally go through myself over a week. Leaving it, checking it and tweeking until its finally there. And it is. Its nice to find a kindred spirit. My thanks for your thoughts, I will do the same for you when the occasion arises. Next task is I have just managed to take a bracketed shot of a little corella and it hasn't moved a single feather. Its been a good week.

Perfection! Thank you Peter for your offer. One of the main reasons why we are spending so much time on this forum!
