if you listen to 1 politician they usually sound like they make a lot of sence. Put more than 3 politicians together they become a joke

There have been many posts on here on this subject,I think the majority concluded it makes little difference I nearly always just delete the pictures from the card, and only format it if the computer or camera says there has been an error.
A computer magazine I used to read said constantly formatting the card makes the card work more and is unnecessary.
But with ever higher spec cards and falling prices it matters little if a card wears out prematurely, as it will probably be obsolete before then.

I like number 2 all in a stack.

A conversation at work lead me to getting a class 10 (30mb/s) SD card.
Now there is no noticeable lag taking raw and . jpeg photos simultaneously.
I use Picasa to download the .jpegs to the computer and automatically delete them from the card.
Leaving the raw pictures which I copy to a 32 gig pen drive constantly connected to the computer for attention later.
Then I have a look at the j.pegs in Picasa,If there is anything I want to keep that could do with processing I can go to the usb pen drive . Here is one that was way overexposed as a .jpeg but saved by the raw file.

I do not like Horses, but as far as I know you can not catch distemper from horse manure.

I have not tried it yet I would need a ttl radio triger and a manual flash, before I can see what happens. If it is not possible I may as well get a radio trigger with ttl pass through, much cheaper than one with full ttl capability.

If I put a manual flash on my Pentax KX on a TTL radio trigger,
will a second TTL flash on a light stand still control the camera exposure, or will the manual flash on the camera break that link.

I hope that makes sense I did a search but could not find anything relevant

I grew up in a house of fear and did not want to be a parent like that.Praise for good behavior and taking the time to explain why we do and do not do things,is just as powerful a motivator of good behavior as the threat of beating. My children have grown up with a very strong sense of write and wrong. I feel confident that they can make good reasoned decisions independently of us. but that is just the way we do it. looks like I am in the minority

Lots of votes for recuva I have successfully recovered photos with it free and simple.
Is it possible that you only created a link on your laptop to the pictures on the card, if so they were never really on the laptop.
