I helped my wife with the dinner last night.

I took the batteries out of the smoke alarm.

When I use the adjustment brush as in the attached pic I get lots of black specks appear. On this pic it's only the child that was adjusted and if you look closely there are black specks throughout. I have removed some of the facial specks but some remain and there are lots more on the clothing. Help please

Between then and now. Not then compared to now.

That's interesting Dugole. My 2.8 version is 2007 vintage. Do you know if there were any changes between then and the latest version?

There's also the weight issue. My 2.8 version is a great lens but heavy. My f4 version is much lighter but you lose a stop. Got to say in practice that one stop amounts to little. If you can hold a 70/200 f4 steady, and you should be able to, forget the IS and save your money. On a comparatively light lens like the f4 version IS is an unnecessary expense, unless you're a shaky old fart like I'm becoming.

Recently returned from Vietnam where I tried out my new 70/300L lens. Seems to be living up to its reputation

Best Pro-Gun story I have heard in recent history.

This is a story of self control and marksmanship by a brave, cool-headed woman with a small pistol against a fierce predator.

What is the smallest caliber you trust to protect yourself?

The pistol is the .25 Caliber Beretta Jetfire

Here is her story:

While out hiking in Alberta Canada with my boyfriend we were surprised by a huge grizzly bear charging at us from out of no where.

She must have been protecting her cubs because she was extremely aggressive.

If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire with me I would not be here today!

Just one shot to my boyfriend's knee cap was all it took. The bear got him easily, and I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace.

"It's one of the best pistols in my collection" she told authorities. "Boyfriends are a dime a dozen, but a good handbag pistol is hard to come by".

Instead of bitching because of the topic or question someone posts why not just pass it by? JR1 you're smart enough to know by the title what this thread was about and you're obviously sick of the topic so why the hell did you click on it? Seems you may have the greater problem...JMHO of course.

As for the question, I think PP is fine and some do it with great taste and it cam make a good shot great or a great shot awesome. I also see some that are way overdone and can make a person or scene look plastic. In my opinion PP done well will compliment rather than dominate the content of the image.

There appears to be many people who DO think like me, when I see the same old questions asked time and again I say just that, use the search function, then others have a go at me saying you should be nicer, you can not win.

Perhaps someone could (in admin) draw up a list of done to death topics

Or perhaps a general guide such as

"Before posting a question, please use the search facility to see if it has already been asked before"

OR

The "search" made easier to see with perhaps a title

"has the question you are about to ask been asked before, search here before posting"

NO disrespect intended, oh, I ALWAYS leave a link to previous questions though as it does help

I am not challenging you on your thoughts, just want to pose a question regarding repetitive questions. Do you think maybe they would rather have present conversation on the topic because maybe there could be others to offer new updated information? Just wondering.

100% fully agree with you, however it would be nice if people searched first, perhaps saying "I have looked through previous posts but still wondered if..........."

The idea of a forum is to discuss and offer advice which people have done, me and others, like it or not the question has been answered.

Just remember NO ONE HERE is having a go at anyone "here" just responding to a question
