Only two and a half hours drive from Glasgow and traveling through some of the most beautiful scenery Scotland can offer, including the drive along Lock Lomond, over the mighty Rest and be Thankful pass, along the banks of Lochs Long & Fyne you will arrive at Kintyre in the South West of Scotland, and while not one of the popular tourist destinations it really is quite beautiful and needless to say not overrun with "selfie snappers". The miles of white sandy beaches stretch both the West and East coast of the peninsular. These are just a few of the many picture I took in one of the best locations I have visited.
1- The Mull of Cara behind the rocks of Muasdale.
2-The Port of Tarbert at the Northern end of Kintyre.
3-Carskey Bay o the Mull of Kintyre, with the Island of Ailsa Craig in the background, upon which blue hone granite has long been quarried to make curling stones.
4-The Island of Gigha and Jura watched over by a Highland Coo, from the foot of Gruach nan Gabhar
5- A'Chleit beach, or as we called Charlies beach after the old fisherman who lived and fished from the beach untill his death some 5 years ago, we had the pleasye of renting his wee bothy for
few weeks--pure hevan.
6- A'Chleit Church, next to Charlies Cottage.
