Not an indoor track we don't have them in Sunny Southern California. But here is an angle you could get to from the stands at an indoor track
This is a picture taken @ UCSD gym at the end of the game the team was 24-0. Like someone else said get down closer to the floor I work at a high school and I'm able to get to the floor at away games the only time I can shoot.

I would use it for sports. In the net at a soccer or hockey game, above the net at a basketball game next tom the ball in golf. That's the stuff I would use it for, then some landscapes or at amusement parks.
What I do is use a High Capacity chip reader, that way there is less wear and tear on the camera and it also saves on the batteries.
