When I attempted to down load files from my new Canon 60D to my Aperture 3 program on my MacBook with the Lion 10.7.2 OS, The program did not see the camera for the Download and nothing happened. I tried the same thing on an other MAC that has the Snow Leopard OS and everything worked fine. My question is " do I need to down load a new program or driver to be able to download from the 60D?". I was able to download from my Canon T1i with no problem all thought I did get a message that the camera was not reconized but It would go ahead and do the down load.

Run software update, it might be the driver. However, the 60 has been out a while, it works with Snow Leopard. Hmmmm

According to this, your Canon 60D is supported:

What I do is use a High Capacity chip reader, that way there is less wear and tear on the camera and it also saves on the batteries.

Same here. I have two Macs running Lion with Aperture 3 and shoot with a 60D. I love the capabilities of Aperture 3, not only the editing functions but the library, organization, and import/export functions. Anyway, I just pull the SD card out of the camera and pop it into a card reader for very easy import into Aperture.
