Beautiful shots - "whet my appetite" for my summer trip. (Yes, hopefully, there will be gourmet food as well.) I will be visiting Amsterdam and Bruges before a Rhine River cruise, with stops mainly in The Netherlands.

I'm talking plus or minus mid 2000s. I (rehash) had an Olympus FE-140. It took nice Sharp pics for a 2006 camera but the battery doors are no good on them. So I bought an FE-210. The door works very nicely but the photos are not as sharp as the older 140. Go figure. Wishing they came with a repair manual. Yeah I know, I should just buy a good used DSLR. In the meantime maybe you nice folks had some decent cameras from the 2000s you would like to recommend. BTW, I prefer cameras that take two AA batteries. Yeah I buy stuff on fleabay. Thanks :(

P.S. After I get the struts replaced on my 99 mitsubishi and water in my cistern (no well here) I'll ask about DSLRs :)

While I bought a new Fuji mirrorless cameral during the pandemic, I still grab a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot if I don't want to carry lots of equipment. The Lumix cameras all have Leica lenses. I have had several. Recently, I replaced a ZS70 with a used ZS100 because it has a 20.1 megapixel 1" sensor.

Just wondering if anyone has found a decent ballpoint pen? I have bought several from Costco and Walmart and I have never found one that in dependable. You would think someone could make a pen that works it is so frustrating to be in the middle of filling out a document and it stops laying down ink.

I have a Tiffany pen, but their refills are picey, though Cross sort of fit. I have a Waterman pen that I really like.

I am selling my Lumix "point and shoot" to trade up... I looked at both KEH and MPB. MPB offered me substantially more. I also bought a used telephoto lens for my mirrorless camera from KEH three years ago and think I got a good deal. I think both out reputable.

Exactly on point. Carried my Nikon and assortment of lenses on several trips and I said never again. Bought a used Sony RX100 III and never looked back. Takes great photos and can be carried in a jacket pocket.

I was going to purchase a later model RX100 but these little jewels cost a pretty penny. So I am looking at a Lumix DC-ZS70. It offers a few more features but is a little bit larger. But the RX100 will be my traveling camera for most of my travel.

The only way I would take my larger kit on a trip again would be if it were a photography-oriented.

I often use my Lumix DC-ZS70 when I travel. It is compact and has a 24-720 (35mm equivalent) Leica lens. I have a small case that fits on my belt. I also have a Fuji mirrorless camera with 2 lenses, but it is not as convenient when I am sightseeing.

That’s crazy. eBay claims they will cover all issues, particularly when a seller is non-responsive. I bought a futon from a vendor that UPS delivered to the wrong address. It was never recovered, but was insured and the vendor sent me another one.

A previous post on this subject reminded me I, too, am looking for a small, light pocket camera with the longest zoom possible. It would be a present for a friend. Budget would be $50+/- Used is fine. Which words should I use in a search of either eBay or a used camera site to get the best results. Thanks.

I have an old Panasonic DC-ZS 70 that I grab when I want something small and fairly compact. It has a long zoom.

My Mother had a ‘69 hatchback in bright yellow. I was a freshman in college and she let me borrow it over spring break. A friend left cans of beer in the center compartment. She was cool- sent me a thank you note. LOL!
