On a Viking river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam, I was able to photograph some of the most iconic scenes in Europe. Night photography, landscapes, and architecture are but a few of the genres I photographed.
Water taxis ply the Danube with illuminated government buildings and bridges in the setting. In daylight, you can still see evidence of the Russian era in the plain common buildings and stark infrastructure.
The main church in Budapest signaled the opulence that I would encounter in other churches during the journey. The later afternoon provided the perfect lighting.
The Parliament Building in Budapest with its Gothic architecture watches over the Danube. I really wanted a night shot but the boat captain said we had to move on.
The windmills of Kinderjik, Zuid, Netherlands continually pump water away from land used for agriculture. The windmills, part of the Unesco Site, house families that operate and care for the windmills.
Your photos provide a satisfying sense of place. The saturation seems just right for the subjects. Thanks for sharing.

Great travel pictures! I especially like the windmills!
Thank you for posting!
Poul.
Thanks. It was a great trip- 15 days of fun in Europe.
Thank you for the splendid photos of Budapest. I lived there before the Iron Curtain fell, and then everything, including the Parliament building, was dingy, dirty and dismal. Known as the "Paris of the East," it's been restored to its former glory, and your photos reflect that.
