Many small farmer's markets have sprung up in the Birmingham, AL area this year. They afford some good photo ops of their stands with colorful produce on display. I took the attached photos with my Canon G10 last Saturday. The G10 is a great, very capable point and shoot which allows you to get as "manual" or as "auto" as you want. Takes very sharp photos.

This is an old mill that was converted to a residence many years ago. It is located in the Mountain Brook area of Birmingham, AL. Not sure exatly how old it is, but I remember it from the 1950's and it was very old then. I suspect it dates back to the late 1800's.

I have been on two bus tours in Ireland and don't feel that I missed many shots due to shooting from the bus. Most tours companies understand that tourist want photos and either stop the bus for quick outside photo ops or at least stop the bus momentarily to allow shots from inside the bus. Ireland is one of the most photogenic countries in the world with varying topography and its many shades of green. Although it probably won't be necessary, you might inform your tour director of your desire to have as many photo ops as practical. Have fun! It is a beautiful country!

I have a Sigma 18-250mm on my Canon T2i and it works nicely. Very satisfied. Have has several Sigma lenses over time and they have all performed well.

If you are going to the San Francisco are, I recommend getting on one of the boat tours of the bay. Lots of photo ops of the SF Bridge and Alcatraz. THe SF Trolleys and Chinatown are also interesting.
