Pardon my candor but, given the level of frustration voiced in your initial post, this looks to me like a very acceptable image. Could you post the "dead flower" shot. This one looks just fine to me.
I'm with you and TessC! HE sure does fine work...the most creative PERSON I know!!!
I still LOVE film and look for it to last even if only in the hands of a few die-hard purists. Love the digital too because of the darkroom time advantages. What I wouldn't give to go to Israel! I would take both, if possible. You could very well end up taking many more photos than you might expect! Have a great time...I too would love to see whatever you can post when you get back!
Well...I guess a picture IS worth a thousand words...thanks for that reply bobmeilke! Beautiful shots!! I have several different makes and models of both film and digital camera and have been pro for too many years. Leica lenses are a PROVEN superior design and performance. The digital cameras are programmed with exceptional color profile algorithms.
Greenjeans..."pay no attention to the man behind the curtain". Are Leica cameras good? Excellent, undoubtedly so!!
And, there are models within most budget ranges ( a used one on Ebay is a viable option). Are other cameras as good. Functionaly, yes. Technically...you be the judge...you can rent one at this link...http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/leica/cameras/leica-x1-compact-camera. You might also consid4er the Lumix by Panasonic. They use the Leica Vario-Elmarit lense but the camera is less expensive. Don't trust just a PAT answer yes or no!!
North Carolina...last fall...hand rail near a rose bush...early AM, comments?
I agree...they are awesome!
I'd love to see what this looks like processed in Sepia and in B&W....beautiful shot!
The shot of the "House of Fire" is breath-taking! Great angle...it really looks on fire!
Also called a "Rose Finch" for obvious reasons...beautiful shots!
Oooh....gorgeous! That color mix is wonderful!
Great job! #4 may not have been "too bright" but, to me, is the best of the bunch...striking colors!!
Awesome images everyone. I so enjoy this site for posts like this! Here is my contribution...just a little Dogwood but the morning was very special...
Early AM Dogwood
Very interesting topic! I believe film will remain an art form and not die out completely if at all. Photo emulsion has no pixels. The point may become just rhetorical but I do believe film is THE preeminent photo medium for serious artists, and I shoot a lot of digital, so mine is not a strictly biased opinion. Comments anyone?
