I do keep up. I just read their latest financials.
NOT good. Forecast to NOT make a profit for the first time ever next year.
That's a major red line for any business.

Nikon in trouble? They seem to cater to the pros more every year.

No they don't. They don't have to.

The term "bridge camera" is a manufacturer's marketing term. It's aimed at people who are terrified at the thought of even holding a full featured DSLR or SLR but would love to have something with a zoom lens that's much more limited in functionality but also much more simple to use. I don't recommend them.

I desperately hope that there is a special place in hell for these people, and for the unspeakable low-lifes who attack computers with spyware, ransomware, and all the other wares. The WWW has brought out the worst of humankind and created apparently unlimited numbers of new versions.

I'm with you on that one. There are also some, believe it or not, who still go door to door.

I agree. If you have questions, then it ain't right. Be careful about getting hung up on equipment. The Sony will NOT make you a better photographer. Only YOU will make yourself a better photographer.

I have arthritis and am at an advanced age. For those reasons I carry as little weight as possible. I have a Bogen 3030A that is a beast and never carry it. I found a very lightweight but sturdy monopod at Target of all places, that is as light as a feather. Using a monopod simply takes some getting used to and some practice. I place mine so it rests on the backside of my knee. Works great! If I really need a tripod, I use a small aluminum Slik that works just fine. I prefer to carry neither, but when you must, you must.

Good morning, my wife and I will be driving to Tennessee in mid August to meet with our family for a
weeks vacation at a house we rented on a lake outside of Knoxville Tennessee. We are located in Middletown New Jersey and would appreciate any recommendations as to where to stay during our drive as we will be taking two or three days to drive there. We’d like to travel 6 or 7 hours the first day and stay overnight, preferably at a nice BnB. Then drive a few more hours on day two so that we are close to our final destination to drive to the next day.
Any suggestions are most appreciated.

I lived in Knoxville for five years. I would move back if I could. Spend a couple of days in Townsend, TN if you can. We stayed at Bradley Mountain. Absolutely fantastic!!!
