I have a carbon fiber monopod, that is super light and also works great as a walking stick. When I don't need the walking stick I'll keep the monopod mounted on my camera completely collapsed (about 12").

I would get a copy of the "cheat sheets" for the 850. If it is too daunting, maybe try renting the 750 instead of the 850.

I've had the same set-up (D750 and 24-120 F4 VR) for about 2 years and still lovin' it. The 24-120 F4 VR is a lot sharper than I thought it would be. I agree with one of the earlier posters......This is a great lens and stays on my camera for most of the time.

I think you nailed it the first time. This will leave just 3" of mat between the photo and frame, which to me seems perfectly fine.

Google the cheat sheet for your camera. They typically cover 3/4's of the 400page manuals on 1 doubled sided sheet that comes laminated.

I prefer to drive up (on a weekday) If there is no traffic, then you can quickly stop on the way up and not just at the pull-offs. I typically go up there once or twice a year. Warm gear is a must. Make sure to bring your tripod if you plan on Multi-shot panoramics. The hotcocoa in the cafe is terrific.

I agree with a few of the others......I have different bags for different things. On the motorcycle (small shoulder bag with 1 frame and 2 lenses). Sight seeing/traveling (Carry on wheeled case that also transforms into a backpack. Holds 2 bodies, 4-5 lenses, 17" laptop). Paid gigs (large wheeled hard case, large enough to hold everything I may need)

I own a D5300, D7200 and a D750. I would suggest if you currently only have DX lenses I would upgrade to the D7200. It is a great camera and is relatively inexpensive. I would then start gradually upgrading your lenses form DX to FX. Once that has been achieved (a few more years down the road) I would upgrade again to a Full Frame. Out of all my cameras......I absolutely love my D750.

I also have this bag but I prefer my rolling travel bag that qualifies as a carry on and also morphs into a backpack.

What are the restrictions for carrying on a 100-400mm lens and EOS 7d ii? Thanks for the help

I like to ship my equipment insured through UPS or FEDEX, have it received at the hotel I'll be staying at. That way it is there waiting for me.

I plan on visiting the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, and if we have time PEI. I only have a week. We were thinking of staying at different hotels each night so we can see as much of the island as possible.

Any recommendations on places to stay? Also looking for the most scenic areas for photos.

We will be visiting the first weekend in August.

Thank you.

I have to agree with the person that mentioned a gaming laptop. They typically provide better speed, graphics and added memory. When I purchased mine I scored huge with buying refurbished through W**mart and paid $650 compared to buying through dell at $2600 for the same product. 17" touch 4K screen, dual hard drives (one solid state), I7, and a gaming graphics card that my son recommended but I don't recall what it is. Not to mention it was only an added $50 for a 2 year warranty (which I recently used because I dropped it and broke the hinge) If you know a gamer, they can pin-point you in the right direction.
