I tried the Nikon battery that I had as a primary and the charger worked as it should. Definitely the promaster battery. Time for a new one.
Thanks guys
John

The only time I experienced this was with a RavPower battery and the original Nikon charger. The result was that the battery is dead forever.
Strangely that battery was performing excellent when charged with another charger. I still regret using the original one. Maybe a coincidence, maybe Nikon charger doesn't like third-party batteries.

My lesson learned, with no further experimental or factual data, is that I will use Nikon charger only for the original battery. I will continue using the third-party for either third-party or Nikon's batteries as I had been doing.

The symbol on the upper left of the 1st suggests it isn't Win 10 but a photo editor.

No, that is Windows 10 properties window for that file. The different icon is because the user has a different application set as default for this type of file (JPG).

In this specific case, the app is Irfan View.

You can capture photos in DNG format and edit on the iPhone, export in raw format to email to yourself for desktop editing, and save and share in the default output jpg format.

Here’s my first photo using it, all done on my iPhone 6S Plus.

If you login to the app and you have a subscription with Adobe, you can sync your photos without the need of emailing them.

As Longshadow as explained most of the confusion is because there are separate dates for the file itself that it's not necessarily related to the EXIF date of the photograph.

If the date taken is newer than the file creation date, it can mean:
- Date taken was modified manually (or a bug on some software)
- Camera was not configured correctly
- Other error of either camera or software when working with the file

I would give a second thought to the idea of using that drive.
It's small and old, drives are cheap to risk a headache for this drive failing.

If you want cheap alternatives, look into Laowa, Samyang and Rokinon (manual options, doesn't matter for astro or even landscape).
Tokina has good wide-angles for a reasonble price (some models have autofocus).

One thing you should think about is, if you go and come down with Covid and get real sick, do you really want to take your chances in a Costa Rica hospital, even if you can get in one? That would be a no brainer decision for me … to not go.

That way of thinking independently of Covid-19 would prevent you to travel to a big part of the world, limiting your options to short distance to top-notch medical services.

It seem that a lot of people feel that just because they are vaccinated, they are safe. Data is showing this not to be true, so do be careful. New variants are looking like they will not be deterred by a vaccine, so you are putting yourself into a situation like it was at the start of all this, when there was no vaccine. Only thing is that now the virus is worse than the original. Ask yourself if your future health and possibly your life, is worth a risky trip to anywhere, right now.

Better to be able to walk and talk and pick up a camera in a year or two from now that to think you have to take a trip anywhere right now, that might open you to contracting what ever virus is out there. You have no idea of who each person is that you will be coming into contact with from the moment you step outside until you are home.

I feel those that travel right now just for fun are the risk takers and due to that, we have no idea how risky they live their lives. Therefore, for me, I would rather not be around any of these types for the time being. I value my health, future health and life far more than the urge to take a trip somewhere, that I can do next year or the year after or the year after that.

This post has something very important to consider.
If you are fully vaccinated, your risk of suffering severe symptoms or needing hospitalization is probably very low. However, there still is great uncertainty of long-term secondary effects of COVID-19. So, personally, even if it would not affect me a lot right now, I will still make all I can to avoid it.

For users mentioning low vaccination rate, that would apply only taking in consideration fully vaccinated (either single-dose vaccines or already received both in two-dose ones). Taking into account partially vaccinated, CR is close to USA.
I don't researched which vaccines they are using in CR. Probably they use two-dose ones and they are behind with the second dose.

If the trip happens and you still decide to go, I recommend taking in consideration:
- Make sure your travel insurance covers any medical bills caused by COVID-19, just to be 100% sure.
- Be aware that if you catch it and test positive before returning, you will probably have to stay in CR longer than expected and isolated. If that happens is not only an additional cost, but also will affect your return date.

I use it with a D7200, no issues so far:
- Make sure both part have battery life
- Make sure receiver has the cable well connected on both ends
- Make sure receiver is ON

Which shutter release option and shutter speed are you using?

I have a thought about this. If you get donations of different cameras, they may or may not have manual capabilities, but if they do, there will be a hodgepodge of different menus and buttons to achieve manual control. Each student will have something different to work with. You should do some research into some different models of past, used digital cameras and settle on one. But then you have to go about finding as many of these cameras as you need. Typically they will be sold one at a time by individuals or sometimes stores.

The beauty of old film cameras is that the controls are very simple and pretty uniform. The shutter speed and aperture controls are more than obvious, even in cameras from different manufacturers. That's not to say that teaching digital photography doesn't have merit. It certainly does, but for a classroom, you're going to want a number of copies of the same camera, and the newer the camera, the higher price you'll pay.

Good ideas, although I think the diversity of models may be more complicated for teacher than students. If they are young and born in a digital world, they will probably navigate any menus wit ease
