Roni: I was down at Chincoteague National Seashore a couple of weeks ago and a ranger was at the gate (I have a Senior National Park Pass, so no charge). There were ponies all around the parking lot and the ocean was calm.
I didn't take any photos just a walk on the beach with my dog. Lovely, but windy and chilly. No bugs.
There are a couple of trails that often have good opportunities for pony photos, along with birds. A lot of birds around ditches that abut roads-usually the "best" birds have a bunch of photographers trying to get a shot.
I'd go early, if you can manage it. And check out National Park Trail Map for the Seashore to see trail options (I like the forest trail). There is a bicycle only paved loop "path" that's nice, if you're so inclined.
Good luck! Bill
Thanks, jerry. I don't recall ever seeing one of those-I'll try to remember.

I still have the Nikon F2 that I acquired 50 years ago. When I die, I am sure it will be tossed in the trash without much thought.
I hope not.
Although my kids use their iPhones for photos, I'm trying to get the idea of photographs as art across to them, with marginal success. They both have "real" camera equipment-we'll see?
(I have an F2 also, as well as a ton of other Nikon "stuff"...)
It just worked for me. But, I agree, eliminating it would make efficiently reading the posts more difficult.
I have two and only use one.
(But the other is a back-up)
The last one is really nice.
As most relatively serious amateurs, I get a few over time.
My best ones are from a trip to East Africa in early '72; one of a Crested Crane who posed for me outside the lodge near Mt. Kenya. The second was a shot of migrating wildbeest on the Serengeti. I had the slides converted to prints, gave the crane to my parents (who had taken us) and kept the wildebeest one.
What a thrill to see these!
Thanks very much.
Check out the vicinity around Woodstock. The Billings Museum is full of potential.
There's also a "mountain" road from outside (east side) of Woodstock up a hill to a beautiful farm on the right side-supposed to be the most photographed farm in the state. (I'm sorry, but I don't remember the name of the road.)
I like the last one best. Thanks for the shots, in Portland, without too many clouds!
Nice-thanks! (We had a cloudy night.)
Gave me a good chuckle to start the day. Thanks!
Easy. D850 with Nikon 70-200mm, almost exclusively. Just acquired Nikon micro 105, but haven't used it yet-looking forward to inspiration and better weather.
I did a trade with them recently and was quite pleased. I turned in a D750 I wasn't using and got a Nikon 105 ... micro (that I am using) plus some cash.
