well.... it has happened. I am now the anxious owner of an a7RII. anxious because I am afraid I won't get used to it. any pointers? How do I set it to back button focus? Funny thing; I was sitting there trying to take picture and it wasn't chu-chuncking. I forgot I set it to silent mode.

photo editing software I prefer. the worse I'll have to do if nobody has one is I'll have to convert the adobe profile.

I'm getting two lenses which darktable does not have profiles for. Have any of you created a profile for a 16-35 f2.8 GM or a 24-70 f2.8 GM that you would be willing to share with me?

incredibly clear water. back in the 80s we were canoeing on the lake and my dad had to get out for some reason. he thought it was shallow but when he got out he didn't even touch the bottom. he's a 7 foot guy!

The problem is that I broke one of my cardinal rules. “When you take the lens cap off it is immediately placed in your pocket.”

I lost my cap. I went to Amazon and bought a replacement but this one had a string attachment so I won't lose it again.

I found out that it does not matter since I shoot raw and that adobeRGB is for print and that sRGB is for web. that is all I needed to know.

from my readings it seems shooting in raw makes the choice of colorspace moot. is that so?

What is the difference between adobeRGB and sRGB? I would ask which is better but that would only instigate an argument so only tell me the difference. What is the difference? What does the 's' in 'sRGB' represent? What does the 'adobe' mean?
