Much as I like great blue herons in the wild, I don't like the one(s?) that have eaten some of the fish from my back yard pond. The remaining fish are less colorful and probably more wary. I keep the duck weed under control, and I think that helps the fish to see predators and hide. We have had three heron sightings, and they are surprizingly large when they are up close in your yard.

Ah, that looks right to me! It was a minor error, considering the quality coverage of the interior. I look forward to seeing your photos of other Paris churches.

St. Severin is my favorite of the lesser-known churches in Paris. Your photos are excellent and quite comprehensive. The stained glass window are so well done. I know it is difficult to get such good shots. I think you may have misidentified the exterior view, the first picture in the series. My photos show a much more ornate building with gargoyles, flying buttresses, and such. This seems to be born out by an Inrernet image search I did. One of the high points, to me, in this church is the single twisted column in the chancel area. All the other columns have straight fluting and rise and branch to the ceiling supports. The center column has twisted fluting, which is apparently very rare in church architecure of the period. Thank you for posting such great photos.

If a simlar bird were going up the tree it would probably be a brown creeper.

Nice shot! He looks rather small. I had a problem with racoons eating fish from my pond, but recently only losing the fish to a great blue heron.

You will find that if you have made edits in Photos and want those finished images in Lightroom you need to EXPORT them first from Photos then import into Lightroom. There is no easy link from Photos to Lightroom.

If it just the original files from photos that you want, you can just locate them within the photos library structure on disk and import into Lightroom.

Again, no super easy one click way to go from Photos to Lightroom - even though Lightroom will read the iPhotos & Aperture Library structures.
You will find that if you have made edits in Photo... (show quote)

Thank you Don. I will try that!

I just sent a comment to another of today's topics about LightRoom. My conversion from iPhoto to Photos went seamlessly, but when I subscribed to LightRoom CC I have yet to be able to import any photos from Photos to LightRoom.

I recently got a new iMac with El Capitan, and hence Photos (not iPhoto). My previous iPhoto library converted to Photos. Then I got LightRoom/PS CC, and have not been able to import any images from Photos. Lightroom was able to import the Events structure from iPhoto, for 17000 photos, but everything was empty for a total of 0 photos. I have not yet had time to try customer service from Apple or Adobe, but I'm very disappointed.

These are beautiful pictures. Back in 1967, my last year in PA, I spent about half of the summer weekends kayaking the Youghiogheny from Ohiopyle falls downstream about 10 miles. Wonderful white water. In those days we boaters had the river to ourselves. Now there is a lot of rafting there I think. Bicycling look like a great way to see the land.

About 7:00am on a clear, sunny day last month, I shot this Osprey about 200 feet away using 896mm total.
Please use the downloads.

Excellent osprey photos! Osprey always look a bit scruffy to me compared to bald eagles, and I always love your eagle photos too. I think osprey may make up for appearance by greater fishing competence.

These fish-hunting birds are always exciting for me. I saw a pair of osprey along the California coast last spring, but they were too far away for good photography.

great shot. what a majestic raptor! gary

Thanks gwr. I like the majestic concept. Often the eagles I see on UHH are so technically good that I'm intimidated, and it carries over to the bird itself and it seems unfriendly. I think this one is majestic and friendly.

Thanks, Don. There were two other eagles seen earlier, but farther away.
