From YouTube - free alternatives to PS.

Photopea - best - ads
GIMP
Keira
Paint.net
PhotoScapeX

If you want to spend a bit of money - just once -
PS Express
Pixel Express
Affinity. $165
Oscillator Pro $50

I added Affinity when it was first free. It's 95% PS, but still quite a learning curve.

Mercedes and Audi have dome that extra charge for metalic paints for decades.
So I buy "Certified Pre-owned" cars from the dealer. They come with sunroofs, metalic paint, leather seats...etc and a discount for its first 3000 miles by the sales staff....+ extra miles on the warranty.
Last time I bought a NEW car was a 1972 Volvo 142E.

How about You?

Back in 1980 in Montreal Canada, at this same time, mid January it would go down to -40. Thats the same either degr's F or C. The dry snow is crunchy under your feet. That weekend, I'm not sure why, but we decided to go south to Plattsburg NY. 50 miles before the US boarder my MB diesel started to sputter, we decided to go back home...if our diesel dies on us as the fuel was beginning to gel, we could die frozen in the car. There are few homes along that stretch of rte#A15 highway This road becomes NY #87.
I do NOT miss that cold !

I just (Nov.22) bought my MacBook Pro 2023 from them. I have bought from Adorama since 1985. Reliable Shop, also their AdoramaPix printing shop.

Just went on my annual 5th Ave Christmas walk yesterday.

For you camera collectors; I thought this is a new version of the Argus BRICK, at Berdorf Goodman at their 5th Ave and 59th St. window.

New York City is back ! Wall to wall people !

Need to do more editing with the other shots I took, but now to another walk from Macy's at Herald Sq. up the Bryant Park (42nd St)

You guys heard from me earlier in the year with my 2nd MBP from mid 2014.
I fixed the lack of internal fan operation by buying a large 6 fan platform the laptop sits on. Its just a bit drafty on my wrists working with the old klunker like that....the fanned air has to go somewhere after all !

However I bought a new MBP 16" M2, 16gb unified memory (RAM) and 512 gb SSD.
It works wonderfully and now am considering getting new photo program (PS of Affinity) and plug-in filters.
There is definately a new learning curve after 8 1/2 years with, what I call my MBPro2. The new guy in MBP3.

Just a quick update !

I found my new hearing aids have a 'ringing' cancelling effect. As l write this l can verify l'm not hearing the ringing. Without the aids, its definately there., has been for decades.
Rexton Hearing aid is from the Costco Hearing Center $1600 for a pair, free any servicing as long as you have them.
This Jan 2023 was my second set. First set lasted me 10 years.

Cheers and Happy Holidays to ALL !

I had not bought any house paint in quite some time. Wow! I needed a good quality exterior latex. I settled for paint one step below this one, but the price was still $70/gallon retail.

One of the great things about paint today is their stickability (not there is such a word). I painted new glossy bathroom tiles to match the old ones, and they have stayed for the last 7 years. I'm in a 1920 apt bldg and the old galvanized pipes where replaced some time ago, but the tiles where they broke the wall open had the same shape tiles but the white color was more bluish. I took an old one out went to HomeDepot or Lowes, matched the yellowish white color and painted the bluish ones to match. The new pant has stuck on, even with my swiping the water off with a squeegee.
The same with exterior white paint on my window trim. New paint is much better, hence the cost !
