Maybe I'm just used to it by now but I missed snarky comments. I thought both the op and first responder quite respectful. But I've heard some rough stuff on here, really not for over a year when it was again addressed.

The 'Lightroom history' of the edited file resumes (aka starts) when the edited file (PSD / TIFF / DNG) returns to LR. Not sure how / why it could be otherwise. If you retain the layers in the PSD, you have the layer-based history if you take the PSD back to PS. If the PS work was the 'finishing', you'll just have a catalog entry in LR for the new file and then any subsequent exports, etc.

The history doesn't 'span' new versions of the file. The history doesn't even come over to a Virtual Copy entirely within LR, just the current snapshot of the edit settings, starting a new history of the new file.

I'm still a photographer.

I agree

I'm curious, what would be a false photographer?

You seem to be going in multiple parallel directions with multiple incompatible full frame bodies. Do not modify the FD 135. Do not get an adapter for use of the FD lens onto a DSLR. Rather, look at scrapping all the unrelated DSLR equipment and consolidate onto the EOS R platform. Different adapters will be needed, but the FD lens can be used as-is on a mirrorless body as well as your existing EF / EF-S lenses. If might be a bit early today as Canon is about to rock the industry with a new EOS R mirrorless body, EOS R5 at 45MP. Three other full-frame mirrorless models are due to be announced too in 2020.

If you can't wait, then maybe another parallel track is needed. I have a Sony a7II with a Metabones adapter exclusively for my FD lenses to the Sony e-mount. The in-body stabilization and 10x focus peaking on a 24MP body make the FD lenses much more enjoyable than ever on film. Here's an example of the FD 135 f/2 on the Sony.

Beautiful, Paul! I have many of my Dad's cameras at as as far back as the 1940's. Including his WW2 camera as he was a photographer for the Navy. And several lenses. I hear there really isn't a market for them.

They are dividers, not decimal points. They divide major version numbering from minor updates. Version 6.7 is the 7th revision of version 6, while 6.14 is the 14th and last revision of version 6. If I recall correctly, not all revision numbers actually made it to implementation. Some were probably lost in the shuffle during beta testing.

Makes sense! Thanks for clarifying!

I think I learned that 14 is a bigger number than 7! Not sure it's that odd!

Not when using decimals I don't think!

Consider whether they need 'high resolution'. For your intended print size, that would be files roughly 2400 x 3000 pixels for prints at 300 ppi (pixels per inch). Are you just dumping this issue onto the family members, or should you add value by sizing the pixel resolution to the intended use. This post provides multiple examples of the process, with screen prints, at the bottom of the post. Recommended resizing parameters for digital images

I don’t know what you looking at - mine was free with no monthly charge.

Not what I saw. I downloaded app and opened it and it said I had a free trial until 1/20/20 then $4.99/month. It is possible it said until 02/20/20! Just had surgery today, a little tiny bit loopy!

Ok, it is not really specific - it all depends on the clarity of the day. The “golden hour “ on a cloudy day is not worth much, but on a nice sunny day it does provide some dramatic photo opportunities. The “blue hour” can be really nice (it is actually only about 20 Min).
The app “weather live” gives the times. Screen shot is tonight.

FYI that app costs $4.99/month. Almost got me!

Similar field of view: 10-18 mm on APS-C Canon T3i. Ultra-lightweight, but limited IMO because best use was for ultra-close up. I had an 18-135 mm to cover the rest.

The best approach when attempting to learn LR is to go to the Help manual found online at Adobe and read anything on the Library Module. This will save you hours of problems and frustrations. Knowing how the program operates in this module is essential to your success in using it. After that you can rely on other types of help, videos, books, etc. I like the Martin Evening book on LR as he is very rational in his approach, a sort of A to B approach. You will love working within this program if you read the Help manual first!

Thank you, you are so right. I did subscribe and am doing tutorials. I already have the learning modules on my laptop, of course I barely read them when I purchased lightroom v6... but the set up is different on the subscription edition. I have yet to find the Library, Develop, etc. I understand the basics of editing and love that part. It's the organization I never quite understood. But you are 100% right about learning that first. I stopped taking pictures pretty much out of frustration. Then I forgot what I already knew. Then I clicked the wrong thing and the majority of my lightroom catalog pics went "missing." I'm now in the process, long and tedious, of dumping hundreds of pics i should have before out of my windows pictures. And I've sent some i want to keep to lightroom and now they look fantastic! Will take months to go thru all as i took far too many to begin with. Thanks for the advice. I'm grateful for everyone's help and very few criticisms.

This exact thing just happened to me. When you purchase the Photography package, it first downloads Lightroom CC, which is a cloud based platform. You then have to also download and install the Lightroom Classic (and you can also download and use Photoshop as part of the $9.99 package.).
Once you download the Classic Lightroom everything will look familiar.

That completely answers my question. Thank you for validating. I don't want to pay $9.99/ month but I've let my photo mojo go so bad I need inspiration! Ongoing health issues. B.C., has watered down my ole urges for getting out there with my camera. And no, I never did get Lightroom v 6 down. I'm going to try harder this time from scratch with resources I have because lately I have nothing but time. Not a big fan of frigid weather though but I've learned a lot of hints on this site on how to deal with cold cameras and batteries.
Thanks for all your help. I think I will download the photography package lightroom.! And watch tons of Anthony Morganti YouTube videos!

So I'm on the final day of a one week trial. Why does the set up look so different from my original downloaded version 6? Where are the modules, Library, Develop, etc?? I can't seem to navigate to that basic screen. I can add pics and edit them. Fine. But where is the original organization screen? Are they just showing me highlights? I ask for tutorials but they are basically for each individual editing tool. I'm watching a YouTube video from Anthony Morganti on mastering Classic CC Lightroom and he has the screens I was used to. Where are they in this trial series? One day left to decide. Thanks so much. I want to get this right this time and am more willing to put in the work of learning how to properly use Lightroom. I love the editing capabilities!

After I take granddaughter home! My grandson did download a free 1 week trial for the Lightroom CC. May stimulate my photo mojo again! Medical issues have affected my pleasure centers in my brain!
