I have a new hard drive and want to re download my Lightroom Classic I purchased several years ago. I'm not finding a way to do that! It's all about the cloud version now. What am I missing? On my Adobe account it says I purchased it, when, and the product key but can't figure out how to download it again. Can you help? I know there has been much discussion in here about both products but can't remember if Adobe still supports the classic version. Thanks!

Which version? We have a link saved for v6 off the Adobe site from others in a similar situation. For older versions, you might be able to get Adobe via a support chat to give you a link to the older software. This time, be sure to save the install file in a secure backup / recoverable location.

It’s not Lightroom Classic! Classic is a NEW Creative Cloud app, evolved a long way from what you have.

Older versions are no longer supported and may not even work on some newer systems. But they may still be somewhere on Adobe.com. Try calling customer support and staying on hold for a while.

The chat option is more time efficient ....

Unless you mean to send a link to the download file from Adobe, there's ZERO way to email the actual install file around. For version 6, you can right-click the appropriate link below and 'save the target file' or 'save link as' to your local disk, based on how your OS phrases the option. When downloaded, execute the install and save the file.

Check out my post from the other day. A call to Adobe can be very rewarding, even if your software is old.

"pay the $10."

Which reasons should we list? Could there be useful changes from version 6 (or earlier) to version 9?

But only after a thorough attempt has been made to recover the version already paid for.

If you misplaced your car, would you simply forget about it and get a new one, or would you make a serious effort to find the missing car?

The last time I lost my keys, I just bought a new condo ... It's like 400 coffees a month.

It's not a car - which is tangible property. He bought a license - subject to the conditions of the owner (Adobe). Not even close to the same thing.

If they no longer support the version, won't give you a download link to get it, then as rgrenaderphoto said - pay the $10 and get up to date. That would solve the problem - and probably a few others he hasn't even thought about to ask. . . Just sayin'

Agree. If you have a new laptop with the proper OS, horsepower, Ram, etc. get the cc version and not have an issue ever again. Going backward to 6 is like putting on worn tires on new car - wait for the flat and tren end up with the new version anyway.
