I think all of them look like winners! Outstanding! I guess it also depends on what the categories were too. I also entered some pictures in two of the county fairs this year -- in my county and in the county next to mine. It was interesting because in the county next to mine, one of my pictures got 1st place and a best of show and that same picture got nothing at the fair of my county in the same category! It all depends on the judges.

I used a Tamron 18-400 lens on a Nikon 5300 this summer on a land/cruise to Alaska this summer and loved it. On a trip 2 years ago I had a Nikon 55-300 lens and it just didn't bring the animals in close enough but the 18-400 really did the job for me. I keep it on my camera just about all the time. Love it!

My first & only DSLR camera was the Nikon 5300 and I love it. I waited until Midwest Camera in Columbus had them on sale & went to get it. I'm just an amateur and so don't need all the bells & whistles. I started out with the 18-55 kit lens and have added the Sigma 10-20mm and the Tamron 18-400mm lenses. I love the ease of use of the Nikon and the quality of the pictures I get (have won multiple 1st places with photos in the county fairs).

Love the picture of Denali from Stoney Point. We were there in June 2016 and had 3 straight days of perfectly clear weather and got good shots of the mountain. Were there again this past June and the weather didn't cooperate near as well. In fact from Stoney Point didn't get to see Denali at all but did later on in the day. Saw lots of Dall sheep & caribou.

Also in Concord, Mass. is Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Buried here are Nathanial Hawthorne, Henry David Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson and other famous people.

We went there in 2011 and one of my favorite trips! We'd never been east of Toronto so followed the St. Lawrence Seaway as far as the Riddeau Canal then followed it up to Ottowa. From there went to Montreal, Quebec City, and through New Brunswick and on to Nova Scotia. If you go to Halifax, eat at the Five Fishermen Restaurant. Back in 1912 this was a warehouse and where they brought many of the dead from the Titanic before burial. There's a cemetery in Halifax where many from the Titanic are buried. Whale watching off Bier Island west of Digby is fabulous. The day we went we saw 15 different whales breaching and putting on quite a show. The Fortress Louisburg is great if you're into history. Went to all the other places mentioned and all are "do not miss this" places.

I used the Tamron 18-400 lens on a trip to Alaska in June & absolutely loved it. Took care of the landscapes (and there were many!!) and brought those caribou and moose up close.

I had some old photos in an album that my grandmother had. I just scanned them using the scanner on my printer and sent them to my laptop. Then I could arrange them as I wanted and saved them all to a memory stick.

Great pictures! We just got back (at the end of June) from our second land/cruise of Alaska. I was about 10 degrees cooler than the one we took, at the same time of year, 2 years ago. Obviously we loved it. Don't spend the extra $$ on a balcony room because you spend so little time there. Get out on the outside decks of the ship and you get great shots of everything -- eagles, glaciers, sunsets, scenery. Don't pass up the opportunity of going. It is worth every penny.

Why are you selling this? I have this same identical camera and absolutely love it. I've added a Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens, a Tamron 55-400 lens, and when I got it a 55-300 lens. I recently came back from Alaska and had taken the 18-55 kit lens and the Tamron 55-400 lens and got wonderful clear pictures. Are you upgrading to a better camera?

My husband & I have done the sunset cruise twice! It's absolutely beautiful. I have a Nikon 5300 camera & at the time had the 18-55 kit lens and a 55-300 zoom. I used the zoom lens all the time & got great shots. In fact one of the sunset pictures came in 2nd to "Best of Show" in our county fair. If you have time, stop by Whitefish Point and see the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. Have lots of fun!

Hi there, I also have the Nikon 5300 and took it on my 2nd trip to Alaska (just got back June 27th). The first time there a couple of years ago I took it with just my kit lens (18-55mm) and a 55-300mm lens. Pictures were very good with both but just couldn't zoom in on all the animals like I had hoped. So this spring got the Tamron 18-400mm lens - what a difference. Turned out that was about the only lens I used. Got it from Amazon & it came from Beach Camera in New Jersey. It came with a monopod, small tripod, & some other goodies. I believe it was around $600 on sale at the time. It was a bit heavier than my 55-300mm lens I'd used before but not so much I couldn't hold it up to my face after having my shoulder replaced at the very end of Feb.

There's a small park in Truro, Nova Scotia where the tidal bore comes right by you. One minute part of the river is practically dry and 5 minutes later you can see the tidal bore come around the bend and then it's a raging river! Probably anyone in town could tell you exactly where this park/area is. We were there in 2012 and I don't exactly remember. Hopewell Rocks is also excellent.

Our first cat was a Maine Coon and I loved him so. Looked just like yours and lived to be 22. Our current white & black was abandoned by the people who had her last. They moved & just took off without her. Now she's been at her forever home for 4 years and has all the hugs, kisses and love she can handle!

We went to Alaska a couple of summers ago and I used something similar to Bob's only about 1/2 the size with a spiral at the top - maybe 2 x 4 inches. I wrote down the number of the picture & a few words about it so I'd know what it was. This was extremely helpful on the bus ride from Anchorage up to Denali, the train ride from Denali back to Whittier, and the White Pass train ride out of Skagway. Have fun on your trip. We had such a good time that we're going back!
