I find science fascinating. Back in the late 40's and early 50's we learned, in science class, that the world was flat, nothing could live below 600 foot in the ocean, there were 9 planets, and there was no mention of where all the water came from. All this has changed. Life below 600 feet, 8 planets. Possibly a ninth if we can find it, and that the water possibly came from comets or asteroids. I watch "How the universe works". What will our grandchildren learn?
If it's a simple roof use A sq. + B sq = C sq. That's what the roofer is doing for their estimate. If you know the length and width of the house plus the pitch you can figure the square footage. Lets say your house is 35 feet long and 25 feet wide and the top of the roof line is in the middle of the 25 foot. If the pitch is 12 that means for every horizontal foot the roof goes up one foot. if the pitch is 6 the roof goes up 6 inches for every horizontal foot. So, half of 25 feet is 12 1/2" (150") and the pitch (rise) is 6. Then the height is 75". That gives you the length of two legs of a triangle (150 and 75) The hypotenuse is "C sq" (150 sq + 75 sq. = C sq). Times the answer by 2 to get the total square foota

Neither. They just don't care. They have to deliver everything in their truck before they can check out for the day. So waiting for a signature or being careful with your package slows them down.

I'm old and have lost all patience. I stopped flying because of the airlines total disregards for the passenger's need to get someplace on time. If I can't drive there I stay home. I can remember when flight attendants welcomed you with a smile. When there was leg room and food. I remember getting dressed with a tie and my wife wearing a dress. I remember looking forward to flying. Now it's like going to the dentist and have a tooth pulled with out getting a shot. Shame on the airlines and us for letting them do it.
