Thank you for bringing the vignetting to my attention. The original's slight one becomes magnified.

Some people like HDR effects, others do not. I've put together an image using software meant to process camera exposures but using only one image and changing the exposure levels from dark to light as well as the original. I like the results and I'd like to get other responses...

They just announced version 9.

:) I'm contemplating upgrading my Suite 8 at the moment. Two things I've found that it does better than anything else I've tried, substituting backgrounds and resizing. Between it and the Topaz apps, almost anything needed is covered. I've been using Portrait Professional for portrait improvement, none of the like apps seems to be as good but they are catching up.

I've only had one print made up in the metallic which really brought out the colors. I used a frame with glass and didn't take notice of its effect but I would think the type of glass might play a part so I would consult with a professional to get the best results.

The digital camera is like an artist's paintbrush, a tool that an individual uses to create a scene as it actually appears or embellishes it as he or she would like it to appear. Some paintings are realistic, some abstract..The viewers can choose what appeals to themselves.

The only photographs that should be confined to what the camera picks up are editorial ones..

It's possible the CD is the problem. I've run into situations where my content quantity exceeded what the CD was capable of handling and couldn't be burned.

No pictures of yellow barns found in Creative Commons but I altered this barn's color. The photograph needs to be credited to:

I read an article regarding bird shots and having the bird looking directly at you is what to aim for since it is rare to be able to get them. The second photo, although very good, with the exception of the bird itself, is much like many bird portraits we see.

I'd choose the one with the direct eye contact because those eyes are mesmerizing and its a less seen view, the side view more common. Both are beautiful.

First B/W sample - The black and white works well. A little brightening would help.

Second sample...Exposure looks good but the painted look doesn't cut it for me here.

I have a quick question...where in the menu can you bring up the leveling device for your camera? I also have a P7100.

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for. Nikon's description mentions tone leveling for this model which I'd take to be a histogram function but I was unable to come up with one.. Horizon level? Didn't find anything on the menu that I take to lead to something like that. The only function that I came across that would require "leveling" would be the Panorama setting. Sorry can't be of help.

Aside from having to find one that fits the size of the compact's screen, it somewhat defeats the purpose of choosing a compact camera for its ease in carrying I'd think.

I was never able to find one that fit one of my video cameras and if not already owning a camera whose screen visibility is disappointing, why not go for a viewfinder from the get-go on a new one.

There have been a lot of additions/improvements in the X6 version tools that I like..of course it depends on the extent of postwork that you do. As to whether the regular or Ultimate versions, that again depends on how you use the program.

This is a link to a PDF page that compares them to the X4. I would download a trial copy of the X6 and check it out yourself..it will not interfere with your X4 installation
