Paint Shop Pro X6 or Paint Shop Pro X6 Untimate

Hi folks this is for Paint Shop Pro users. I have Paint Shop Pro X4 and am considering upgrading to X6. Just wondering if it is worth an extra 20 or so bucks to go with the Ultimate version X6? Will it make it faster to process my photo's or easier to process them. Will it do a better job than X6?

Thanks in advance to those who respond to this.
I'm not even going to think about Photo Shop cloud or not.

I'm just interested in Paint Shop Pro X6/X6 Ultimate.

Sorry for the typo in the header.

There have been a lot of additions/improvements in the X6 version tools that I like..of course it depends on the extent of postwork that you do. As to whether the regular or Ultimate versions, that again depends on how you use the program.

This is a link to a PDF page that compares them to the X4. I would download a trial copy of the X6 and check it out yourself..it will not interfere with your X4 installation

I've been a PSP user since early JASC days, using it for some of its features even when I moved to Photoshop. When I upgraded my computer, my last Photoshop no longer was compatible and I could not afford the newer version, so I turned to PSPx5. Love it. The only thing I understand the x6 would give me is speed, so I am content with x5.

As a computer consultant, my general rule of thumb is to skip a version before upgrading as there is rarely anything in the 1 step version to make it worth the money. In other words, in your case, a jump from x4 to x6 would be justified as it is a 2 step jump and I would opt for the Ultimate.

The link given above shows the differences. I am using x4 Ultimate and haven't taken the plunge yet since I don't do much with it, but when I do upgrade it will definitely be the Ultimate version!

Thanks to Elle, Selkii and Wahawk. I am going to go ahead and get the X6 Ultimate version I think, it doesn't cost enough more to really quibble about it. I have used Paint Shop Pro from the JASC days too and have been very happy with it.

Elle, thanks for the link, I think that made up my mind.

I hope you all have a prosperous and healthy new year.

Paint shop Pro X6 Ultimate, I was fortunate to get mine before the official release, as an existing user, and the lessons and extras are well worth it
