Richard,

Great photos. Did you use a 600mm lens? Thanks.

I cleaned my two cameras' sensors yesterday for the first time. Could not be easier. Get yourself a loupe so you can see the sensor and any dust it may have. My cameras are APS-C, so I got the appropriate size swabs. The swabs have a video which shows what to do. The first thing I did was to run the sensor cleaning option in the camera a few times. Then used the blower to remove the looser particles.

I kind of freaked out because after the first pass after I noticed a streak that was not there before. I thought I scratched the sensor, but then realized I used too much liquid. After another pass (and another swab) the streak was gone and the sensor was pristine. Ended using more swabs than necessary, but now I know how. Only use the swab once back and forth. Otherwise you might be putting back those dust particles.

This is what I used:

Did you have those drives connected via USB? If I connect such drives using my docking station only disk management sees it, but cannot convert it to GPT. I have to open my desktop and connect it inside for it to be fully recognized and do whatever I need.

I would say that although image quality is superior by just being a prime lens, such lens provides you with the speed to freeze action at lower light. Perhaps it might help to hear from the photographers themselves.

Usually, my wife and I each have a backpack for our gear, but we are planning a trip to Scotland, and I want to condense everything into one bag. Below is a list of what we will be taking. Of course, it still needs to fit under the seat, if possible. I would like to stay under $250, but would go higher for the perfect bag.

R7
6D mkII
100-400
RF100-500
16-35

Maybe a second R7 if there is room.

Thanks, Mike

The bag I'd choose, besides to fit all these, would be able to attach a tripod, a water bottle and be able to put on the ground without concerns of getting it wet. I have an old Case Logic bag I bought for $50 that can do most of this plus a laptop. Can't find the model number though but it is similar to model 3204534.

I like OP/Tech products, and I'm thinking about getting a sling strap, and the OP/TECH USA Utility Strap-Sling looks good. I don't like the idea of supporting the camera (Nikon FF) by just one point, though, but that seems to be the standard procedure. For $28, it looks like a good deal. The OP/TECH USA Utility Sling Duo looks good, too.

The reviews look good, and I like the inter-connectability of the OP/TECH system. Any comments?

I have the sling, which I use for sports photography. I can get my camera out like a gunslinger. The sling comes with two uni-loop connectors from which I connect to my camera via a manfrotto quick release plate. The two connectors add a bit of safety that my camera and long lens don't end up in the floor.

I was in college in Ohio and for the first time we got tickets for the Reds opening day. Back then, Cincinnati always had the first game of the season. Then the strike happened, and we lost the chance and my hopes of being in that season-opener game.

I was told that on the first game after the strike, fans showed their frustration by leaving the stadium at the call of “play ball”, leaving the park almost empty.

The rift between owners and players goes back to the beginnings of professional baseball. I just wish they didn’t take in on the fans, who make a sacrifice to go see them play.

The expense for a family to go see an MLB game is almost prohibitive. In 2011 we made a trip to Cleveland to see the Yankees and the total expense was over $2,000. But I took my camera and tried to get back as much as I could. In the photo below, whatever Brett Garner is telling Derek Jeter must be big. The 2nd one is from a rowdy Yankees fan. The last one the coach talking to Masahiro Tanaka through their translator.

So why don't the other 99% of MLB pitchers learn how to bat?

Pitchers are the only position in baseball where pitchers are given a pass by their team when up to bat. Also, get rid of the designated hitter rule. Return to those thrilling days of yesteryear!

That is because teams deem a pitcher to be more valuable to win games than a hitter. The latter has three or four chances to help the team, while with the former every hitter he gets out is one less chance for the other team to score. That said, there have been a few pitchers that were decent hitters -Steve Carlton, Walter Johnson and Bob Gibson, to name a few (and the Babe, of course).

As far as I am concerned, if Ohtani keeps hitting and pitching the same way he has, he should be the MVP every year. Just because he wins games from offense as well as from the defensive side. Aside from being among the best from either side as well. And if money is used as measure of the value as a player vs. his peers, then he should be paid accordingly. But that's just me.

The grocery store I go to loves to move everything around. They just finished rearranging the produce and frozen food sections. I think they want people to have to search for things they buy regularly and then they might see something else they would buy.

That's right. The layout of a grocery store is well planned. The longer they keep you in the store the more they sell. It is no fluke the milk is usually at the farthest point from the entrance and flowers right by the door. Also, cheaper products are most likely lower in the shelf and impulse buys by the register.

They are all funny. Thanks for sharing.

The grocery joke is precisely why I stopped going to Sam's club.

And on #1 I'd put it by my wife's side of the bed with something heavy on top and no note. Let her figure it out.

Just awesome. I'm curious. How long does it takes you to produce this image?

This a lengthy but interesting read.

Thanks for posting. Some of these guys went through situations that would make anyone quit, not to say also starting from rock bottom. I guess you could boil down their characteristics into believe in yourself and never quit.

Great pictures.
I believe the Sadhu's hand gesture is the Gyan Mudra, used to gain knowledge. I'd think he was trying to figure out your true intentions.
