As a matter of course, I try and take my cameras (Nikon D700 and 7200) into a reputable repair shop about once a year or so. That's been the case with the 700. Just took the 7200 in for servicing, though it had been a few years for that unit, which doesn't get as much work. I shoot part-time for a couple of suburban newspapers.

Shortly after getting a new Nikon D7200 in 2016, I bought a used (rated 9/10) Nikkor 2.8 70-200m lens from B & H Photo. Have had zero problems with it. Two years ago, happened upon a used Nikon D700 body w/battery pack which had like 400 actuations on it. The seller had purchased it, but thought it to be too heavy, and it sat on the shelf for 6 years. It barely had any fingerprints on it. Nothing wrong with buying used.

Sounds like you have most of it already planned. Have lived here (Colorado) for 41 years, so if you need extra advice, don't hesitate to send me a note.

I picked up the Nikon D7200 Expanded Guide by Jon Sparks and Ammonite Press. You may want to checck and see if they've done one for the 7500, though both units are strikingly similar.

Thanks. BTW, these were shot w/a Nikon 7200 and Nikkor 70-200 2.8 Lens @ 70mm. M 1/15 @ F 5.6. Pawn/Foods-ISO 100. Sunoco-ISO 450, and Police/Pencil- ISO 160. I probably could have used my shorter (24-70 Sigma 2.8) lens, but I think the Nikkor does just a little better. I tried to be as still as possible w/the pod and shutter release.

Attended a family wedding reception last weekend (7/28/18) in Pueblo, Colorado, which was along that city's famous "Neon Alley". Did not have a tripod, but grabbed my monopod and longer lens to capture these at twilight.

And it's weird rg, my buddy shot his D700 w/the filters at exactly the same settings, and his weren't nearly as dark as mine SOOC. I always try and get the settings right in the can-but with Lightroom, goodness there is plenty of margin for error, particularly if underexposed. But you're right, what a weird experience using such filters for the first time.

Took these images yesterday with a good friend, who had a couple of neutral density filters,-one 6 stop, the other 8. They were attached to a Nikkor 2.8 24-70 lens. Used my Nikon 7200. First image was shot with the ND filters @ 1000 ISO, F22, and 60sec bulb exposure on a tripod. The second image was handheld, using a polarized filter, on a Sigma 2.8 24-70 lens, @ 220 ISO, F7.1 and 1/320. I had to tweak the ND shot +2.74 in Lightroom to get it right. Was a crazy experience using those ND filters, though a very scenic area, which has reopened following severe flooding in 2013.

Has anyone else had problems with red colors while shooting Nikon? I have a 7200, and invariably, the reds are always off a bit, as shown by the same photo, before and after Lightroom color processing. I notice this a lot when I've shot teams with red or red trim in their uniforms, as it always comes out a tad orange. I use the Color/Hue adjustment in Lightroom to true up to that which I saw w/my naked eye. It happens indoors under good lighting conditions as well. I just think there's something in the software of this particular Nikon, which doesn't seem to register this true color. Any and all thoughts are welcome. For the record Nikon 7200, Nikkor 70-200 2.8 Lens, B & W XPro UV Haze Filter. Auto1 White Balance, F4 @1/3200, 200mm, 500 ISO (Auto). JPEG Large/Fine. Cropped the photo to highlight and zoom in on the action. I did have to bring my exposure down a smidge in Lightroom. Was an early AM game Monday, May 2, 2018 @ Metro State University of Denver. Heritage HS (blue) vs Mountain Range HS. Field is entirely artificial.

I think I'm finally getting the hang of settings for Colorado HS Baseball. These were shot in manual mode 2.8 1/3200 @ 200mm, auto ISO (200/125). I did crop/zoom to get in closer during post. Given our sunlight, and latitude, I've found it's good to start at 1/1500 sec at 2.8 and go from there, watching my histogram. When the sun's higher in the sky, it's not uncommon to shoot at 1/4000 if @ F2.8. This game began @ 4P MDT.
