I think I'm finally getting the hang of settings for Colorado HS Baseball. These were shot in manual mode 2.8 1/3200 @ 200mm, auto ISO (200/125). I did crop/zoom to get in closer during post. Given our sunlight, and latitude, I've found it's good to start at 1/1500 sec at 2.8 and go from there, watching my histogram. When the sun's higher in the sky, it's not uncommon to shoot at 1/4000 if @ F2.8. This game began @ 4P MDT.

Nice work SB: The lighting is great.

It isn't wrong, however, on #1 I would crop off the left side to the edge of the bag. Equal to the space between the runner's feet and the edge. The rest of the shot is all action and the bag gives a sense of location. That crop will only remove unimportant information that you already did with the rest of your editing. Good shot BTW. I love these.

Again, this is just my way of doing it, but I will close down the aperture a bit. With a Canon 2.8 70-200 I get decent DOF at 5.6 and still retain a decent shutter speed. My lens is good at 2.8 but better at 5.6.

Thanks for sharing.
