Sony has a line of 'Cybershots' that run from about $150 to over $1000. They're mostly about the size of a deck of cards so they fit in most any pocket or purse. The Canon versions are called 'Powershots' and have 'G' model numbers like G1, G5, G9, etc. The Canon models are clustered more around $600 and have slightly different mixes of features and focal lengths. Both the Sony and Canon options all take great images, straight of out camera files ready for posting. They're JPEGs just like any camera so some modest changes to the camera settings and / or post processing makes them look even better. At 20MP there's plenty of data to edit, crop into, level horizons and similar modest changes. Most also capture in RAW of someone wants to put more effort into the editing.

I'm the business manager at a church. We're looking at purchasing
a point and shoot camera for use by our office manager / communications
person for capturing church events and publishing photos in our weekend
bulletin and website. Using it for video is not being considered (she uses
a smart phone for any live-streaming).

I myself use a Nikon D5600 and haven't used a point and shoot in quarter
century. We're looking for a fairly easy to use camera for the office manager
and hoping to keep the price in the $6-700 neighborhood. Not wedded to Nikon.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone purchased an adapter to mount a smart
phone onto a tripod? Any recommendations on what
brand has worked for you?
Thanks!!

(At first I thought it was Publisher's Clearing House. I live in PA.)

That's what I always thought too, until I travelled the highway several years ago!
Beautiful drive, but don't know its current condition.

Was the highway still gravel? My first trip to Alaska was in 1958 when I was 16. Alaska was not yet a state. Most people broke either a windshield or headlight from the gravel road.

The highway is almost all paved. There were maybe 5 sections that were under
re-construction. Those areas ran anywhere from a couple miles to 5 miles in length.
Gravel was not your driveway size gravel - more like baseball sized gravel.
For all but one section we had pilot cars take us through, not JUST because of the
construction, but also because of the density of the smoke from wildfires in some areas.
We had a Toyota Prius - pretty lightweight for such a trek, but it made it fine.

Amenities are few and far between, but generally there was a turn off with pit stop stations
every 50 miles or so -- always use them as they come up or you may have to commune
with the bears in the woods when you need to "go". Best / Cleanest stops were in the Yukon
segment of the hwy.

About 5 years ago my wife and I drove from Chicago area to Bellingham WA
where we caught a car ferry. Took that with 3 or 4 stops along the way to
Whittier AK (closest drop-off to Anchorage). Drove our car to Anchorage, Denali,
Fairbanks, and back home along the AlCan hwy. Trip of a lifetime. The ferry system
is run by the state of Alaska.

My first reaction was if this was taken within the past month, why isn't anyone masked or distancing? Are the guidelines more relaxed "down under"?
