Goodfellas. It's on Sundance right now. Worth watching every few years. What are your favorites?

Both good movies, but my favorites are Yellow Ribbon, The Alamo, and The Green Berets with John Wayne.

I like Apocalypse Now also. For me, it captures the surreal essence of VietNam. I actually saw The Green Berets while there at the movie next to the PX at Freedom Hill in DaNang. There was a sign at the entrance that said “please check grenades at desk” - seriously. The entire theatre was filled with Marines, and when in the opening, it said something like: “the green berets - the bravest fighting men the world has ever seen”, as if it had been choreographed, the entire group yelled a long, drawn out “sheeeeeut”

I'll bet!!

Another movie that is re-watchable is No Country for Old Men. Javier Bardem played the quintessential bad guy. Also, my wife and I like to watch the Thin Man and its sequels at New Years.

SteveR,

The Thin Man and Boston Blackie movies were outstanding too. Some of the B&W Noir lighting was great too.

Too many to count.
But I am partial to animation. At one time I had every DVD Disney put out of their big movies and some cartoon short collections. Then after Walt was gone they started turning out not so great stuff like an automatic donut machine so I stopped buying them.

I'm with you, Robert. When you talk about scary movies, you're talking Pinocchio. Snow White, ofc, was one of the best, Cinderella...and for those of us old enough to remember it, since it's not available anymore, Song of the South. A couple non-animation Disney movies that I remember were Old Yeller and The Shaggy Dog. Was Swiss Family Robinson a Disney movie? Also a favorite when I was growing up. I forgot to mention Bambi. Disney was great back then. Esp. when seen on the big screen.

I grew up with these great Disney animations, which are an amazing art form, and I think one of the best of all the Disney animations has to be Fantasia.
