Being a volunteer decent at the Detroit Zoo, I'm there often in all seasons. My favorite for photography is winter and many photographers agree. The zoo has many large, natural habitats and none have bars or fences between the people and the animals. Snow and the cloudy, dreary winter weather we often have, being close to the Great Lakes, result in scenes that appear more desolate and wild. All animals were captive born except as noted. Nice shots. Don't zoo bears hibernate? Gary
Outstanding snowy pix, sir. Sometimes (but not often enough to cause me to move to a snowy place) I wish I could get snowy pix like these. Keep up the excellent work!

Wonderful series. Seems you have the run of the zoo.
Great captures and renderings. Nice to see that the animals have a natural habitat. Please stay safe and keep on sharing.
What Zoo did you Visit? I have considered going to our Detroit Zoo in Winter, less crowded and somewhere I read or heard that some of the Animals are more active and likely to be seen more, is this understanding of mine a correct one, or a silly idea????
I would be going with my Photography equipment, if not to Cold, I do not like extreme Cold or Hot at my 70th year of life.
John, what an outstanding set! These could all have been taken in the wild. Thanks for sharing and for your volunteer work helping these animals.
Nicely done. Not the usual zoo pics.

Hi, John, yes, I’m familiar with the Detroit Zoo. A very photographer-friendly bunch of exhibits. This is a nice series, with the wolf and Amur tiger getting my votes as the outstanding images.
Great work,
Dave
