See, test, use the filtering option ADMIN introduced in this link. Everyone should now be happy.

NO! Not so. I follow 30 sections. Now I have to go home to get to each section separately. Before, if something new was posted in a section I follow, it appeared in that section on the daily list. How does this make it easier for me to follow my sections? This is a lot of work for nothing gained. Please give us the option of using the old format.

I wrote a post earlier in the week about not liking the format change.

Just now I noticed the prompt to filter by section. This capability removes my objection to the change. I probably didn't read the change notice to understand this capability on Monday.

I found if I simply click on "Home", I'm back to the "old" format. Works for me.

Yes, you can filter by section. But now I have to do that 11 times to see all the sections I follow. Before, all my sections were displayed at once. Why make more work for us? I still don't understand the logic of the change. It is not a matter of teaching old dogs new tricks. It is a matter of making the digest harder to use for those of us who make use of several sections. Please give us the option of using the old format. Those that like the new format can use it. Those of us who find the old format more useful for our way of using the digest can use the old method.

I agree with all of the above. No logic to the change and it makes it much harder to find the posts that I'm interested in.

Just click on "Home" at the top left and it takes you the pages you have subscribed to, which I assume are the pages you are interested in.

And this from the Admin: UPDATE: If you need to filter digest topics to just one section, you can do it by clicking "Filter by section" near top left of the digest page, right under the headline "Ugly Hedgehog forum digest".

This way you can quickly locate all topics in the digest that belong to one section in which you are interested. The number in the parentheses shows the number of topics for the given section in the current digest issue.

Yes, but now I have to do this for each section I want to look at. Before, all of those sections were automatically listed. Why make extra work for us for a change that, for me, is less than worthless? I still don't understand the logic of this change and still find it VERY irritating. It makes it harder for me to use the digest for the purpose I use it for.

I, for one, much prefer the old layout. I go to sections that I'm interested in. Browsing through all posts to find ones I'm interested in is NOT appealing. I do go to the bottom of the page because some of the sections I want to read are there. I really don't understand your logic on this. I am much less likely to go to the bottom of the page when the topics are randomly listed. In fact, it is so irritating that I may just skip reading the forum altogether.

Entrancingly beautiful! Thanks so much!

Siphonophores are colonial jelly-like creatures made up of specialized segments that work together as one. They may not be familiar to most, but they’re abundant animals in the ocean. In fact, siphonophores are some of the most important predators in ocean ecosystems. Scientists have described some 175 siphonophore species. Most follow a similar body plan—a gas-filled float provides buoyancy, swimming bells propel the colony, and a central stem bears specialized parts for feeding, defense, and reproduction. From the surface to the seafloor, the ocean is home to many extraordinary siphonophores. These are some of the most stunning species we’ve encountered.
