I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a drone. I borrowed a DJI Mavic Mini from a friend awhile back and enjoyed flying it. I found it easy to fly and to take photos. At that time, I was using an iPhone 11 with the controller but have since bought an iPhone 14 Pro. I found this (see link below) online and would appreciate your opinion about this being an entry level drone and compatible with my iPhone 14 Pro or any other issues you foresee if I should make the purchase. BTW my friend says this company is very reliable and honest in their condition ratings of their drones.
https://www.mpb.com/en-us/product/dji-mavic-mini/sku-2112956I plan to take photos only for my own enjoyment, keep the drone in sight and abide by FAA regulations. I’m a retired airline pilot and fully understand airspace types, what each means and how to avoid or attain permission to enter them.
I thought the drone mentioned above would be a good way to get my feet wet and see if I want to pursue part 107 certification and buy a much more advanced drone.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a really good price. I would try to find out if the drone is "unbound" from the previous account. (I assume this is a used drone.) I don't know anything about the company so I can't really say whether or not it's really a bargain.
Thanks for the reply. I will call the sales company Monday ask about the “unbound” issue. I assume too that it is used because the discription mentioned it has 6 charges. I don’t know what that means unless the batteries have been charged 6 times. Is that a big issue, the charges I mean?
MPB is a very reputable company.

Don't know if you now have the Mini drone yet, but the Mini is pretty basic. DJI has the best drones...unfortunately they are a Chinese company. No one comes even close to their technology though. Rumors have it they use their drones to spy on US. NO ONE has proven this.
You might look at the DJI Mini 3:
https://www.dji.com/mini-3/specsor Mini 3 Pro:
https://www.dji.com/mini-3-pro/specsBoth have RID in their firmware. (Remote Identification) An FAA requirement now extended to Mar 2024.
I have older drones: Phantom 4 Pro v.1 and a Mavic Pro. Solid drones.
Good luck and safe flying.
