No, we made the trip with my son and his girl friend using rental cars and private apartments (Air BnB and VRBO). I really enjoy driving over there; good roads, good cars, and good drivers. Attached is the place where we stayed in Grainau, Germany, about two miles down the road from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Our apartment had two bedrooms, two baths, a full kitchen, a breakfast nook, a large living room and two balconies, all for considerably less money than what two hotel rooms would have cost. I hope you get to reschedule your tour. Thank you for your comments.
We got lucky with the weather.
I haven't bought any photo equipment from them, but I did buy an LG HDTV from them about a year ago. At the time they had the best price on eBay for the particular model, with prompt free shipping and excellent communication. Everything about them looks legit to me.
Having been to Switzerland multiple times my opinion is that Basel is one of the very few spots in the country that is not spectacularly scenic. Rent a car, get up early, and drive to Lucerne. It's just a little over 60 miles - an easy one day out and back. While there take a boat tour around the lake, and if the weather is good ride the world' steepest cogwheel
railway to the top of Mt. Pilatus for great views.
On your cruise have you camera(s) ready for the stretch between Rudesheim and St. Goar, Germany. It's where most of the old castles are, high above the river.
I had a bad experience with them several years ago when they refused to honor a factory rebate. I won't buy another Tamron lens.
Brand new U.S. D7200 bodies are currently available for under $800 from both B and H and BuyDig.com. I just bought one from B and H.
That would have been 47th St. Photo, a different company. I bought from them too. They were good, but they're gone.
The NFL is a tax-exempt charitable organization (no kidding). One that can afford to pay its politically connected CEO $39 million a year. That's just one of the reasons I don't watch this modern version of the bread and circuses of 4th and 5th century Rome.
Best racing in the world. Too bad they've let the cars get so ugly thru the years.
I recently bought one for less than $250 and couldn't be happier with it. Great video with excellent image stabilization. I think that in some of the places I go from here on I'll be leaving my Nikon DSLR and multiple lenses in the trunk.
The one about the buzzing stoplight reminded me of when, after the passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Too-Big-to-Fail bank I was working for in all seriousness installed Braille keyboards on all their drive-thru ATMs.
I'd love to have one too, but I would probably need to keep it and use it outside the U.S. By the time it got 5 mph bumpers, air bags, emission controls, anti-lock brakes, and a hundred other federally mandated add-ons it would be too heavy to ever get off the ground in this country.
Nice try, but by the time it gets fitted with emission controls, airbags, 5mph bumpers, and dozens of other federally-mandated items it will be too heavy to ever get off the ground in the U.S.
