Thank you to everyone with the use full comments. One individual suggested I mention what kind of photography I like to do. Unfortunately that's the 1st rub... I don't really know I have dabbled in low light and macro a lot but in my collection of pics is mostly just odds and ends. As for glass, the 2nd rub, I am tiotally stuck with DX format lenses. Of the 12 lenses I do have( yes that's a lot but purchased since my first D80), three are VR (all Nikon), three are Tamron, one Sig and the rest are Nikon. The Tamrons are a 90mm@ f/2.8 and a zoom 200mm @ f/ 2.8. So, based on yesterdays sugestions does all this change any opinions?

Thank you for you polite opinions and help,

DL Lender

Welcome to the forum. I have all DX lenses too, with the exception of one prime FX lens. I don't have 12 yet. A friend owns a Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro/portrait lens. He loves it. You, owning 12 lenses should have all of your photographic requirements covered. Your D7200 is an excellent crop sensor camera. All you need to do now, is go out and have some fun with your camera. And learn more from this forum.

Sorry to hear about your bad first experience here. The knuckle draggers and neanderthals infect every open group they can. It is their lot in life to try to make everyone feel as mad, angry and neutered as they are. In the future don't let them bother or limit you.

As to your camera questions, it really is about what you like or prefer. I went from a new D3300 to a well used D7000. Love the 7000 and haven't used the 3300 since I got it. If being on the leading edge means a lot to you then sell both and spring for the new D7500. If you just want an awesome upgrade then get the D500.

Good luck in your quest ...

Your previous post from yesterday stated you owned a D7000 and D3200. Today, your post says a D7200 and D3200. Did you make a typo error?

Welcome to the forum. I too own a Nikon D7000. While I wish I had a newer 7200 or even 7500 the 7000 is a quite capable camera. You also have a nice selection of glass.

Maybe commit to one of these picture a day groups. It will get you photographing. Then when you find a subject(s) that interests you you can do more of that.

Few people, aside from professionals, limit themselves to one type of photography. I like to shoot landscapes because trees aren't going to complain that I'm taking their picture again. I also shoot cars, animals, signs, and anything else that catches my eye.

Brand new U.S. D7200 bodies are currently available for under $800 from both B and H and BuyDig.com. I just bought one from B and H.

Jerryc41, I remember you from the first time I was a member. You were a good soul then as well. So anyway I'm back. Finding suitable discussion groups has been a dicey situation. But I now believe I'm where I belong. Everyone here has been helpful in the direction I should go. The 3200 is definitely on the block( but is been the one I carry constantly, the dogs won't get in the car unless they see the bag. Now it's down to a chaoiuce between the D7500 and the D7200. I'm afraid money will be the deciding factor here. wish it wasn't the case but hey, we don't always get what we want. Thank you for your in put, sincerely DL Lender

I'd sell both the D3200 and D7000, and get a D500 . . . Body is on special now for about $1799 with an included MB D17 battery pack (which is about a $400 value) . . .
