Thank you for viewing and commenting. I didn't think of white vignetting. Can't do it on this phone but I can try it when I print. Great idea!

thank you. This is the first photo I've shared as I just took the time to figure out how to do it tonight and you are the first person to respond. Cool. I hope a bench comes your way. This one did for me as it was being thrown out and I got it for free.

Hope you enjoy. This was taken on an otherwise dreary winter day

I have a Nikon D3100. I sold the most of my focus problems using the same lens by shooting in shutter priority. Shutter priority allows you to control how fast the shutter moves. Think about it the faster the shutter moves the last chance your camera will register Shake. So don't be afraid to kick up the shutter to 200 plus. Just compensate bye using a higher ISO. Test your images first and you will be happy with the results. Also make sure that you are shooting with plenty of light. In most cases I am not talking about using Flash. Have fun getting better pictures. I know this work for me

I skied near there ago on Beech Mountain when they had an unusual amount of snow. My last night there was a storm that resulted in them calling off school. According to some students it was their 20th day off since the snow season began and I was told that usually they do not have snow days. The worst part of it all was trying to climb the untreated mountain roads after skiing without studs in the tires. So maybe it's just a little bit of snow to those people in New England but believe me it's a lot of snow if you live in the mountains.

I use them so that I can insert the card into my smartphone and send the picture since my camera won't do Wi-Fi.

Buyer beware this is only a 12 megapixal camera, though it is full frame. Remember most DX cameras today have double the megapixels starting with the Nikon D 3200.

So you notice the people with 5,600 tend to switch to 7200... personally I have a 3100 and when I switch it will probably be a 7500. My advice is go to camera decision where you can compare the specs of two different cameras at the same time. It would help if you could get your hands on a DSLR so that you could truly learn what those specs mean. Have fun and be prepared for about 3 months relearning how to shoot a camera.

I've got GAS! I don't have big bucks to spend, but I'm starting to think that something like the D3300 would give me sharper images than I can get with my 3100. Now that I've started looking, other used Nikons in the under five hundred dollar range are clouding the issue. Does anyone have any advice on what would give me the most bang for my limited bucks? Since I have a number of Nikon compatible lenses I am not looking to change brands.

I have used the Nikon D 3100 for about 4 years. Yes I would like to upgrade but so many questions abound. What kind of photography do I really want to pursue? Do I want to get into video? And many others... My biggest concern with your post has to do with your image is not being very sharp. I had that problem for a long time probably a year-and-a-half to two. Then I learned the beauty of shutter speed. So most of my shots for a long time or shot with higher-than-normal shutter speeds and with correspondingly higher iso's. Of course better lenses will help but I have not upgraded from the two Kit lenses 18 to 55 and the 55 to 200. Both have served me well and I'm about ready to start selling my photography at the urge of others. Just keep having fun and learning new things.

Using BBF made all the difference for me. I had only had my camera about a month when I was asked to do a family wedding. I remember practicing during the rehearsal the night before and my camera did not know where to focus as people were coming down the aisle. Practically every shot was so bad I couldn't even recognize the people that was shooting. Went home that night and ask Google how to focus my camera better. That's when I learned about back button focusing and I have never switched back.
