I understand your decision. I also recently sold all of my Nikon DSLR and numerous lenses due to desire to simplify my photography, which has been declining because of my age. I purchased a P1000 used and feel I made the correct decision for me. I love being able to venture out with a single camera and no additional lenses. I really like the Nikon P1000.
I believe that Nikon has again begun selling the P1000 after the Covid shutdown, not positive though. Either the P950 or the P1000 would be a great camera. They are a bit heavy, but easy to use after a learning curve. My only disappointment is that I cannot use BBF.

I’ll add another, those that complain about ink cost. Nothing in photography is cheap.

For my own printing, I continue to use my Canon Pro-100 and will as long as it continues to work. I hang about a half dozen prints on my walls and change them out if and when I get new "wall hangers". I count as 'elderly' so the dye ink prints will last a lot longer than I will!

I am in full agreement with you. I also print with a Canon Pro 100 and have owned it for approximately 8 years, it has never given me any issues at all and there are times that I don’t print for a month or two. As far as cost of printing, I keep a full set of cartridges on hand and when a cartridge goes empty, I install from the extra set and then order a replacement cartridge to keep my extras at full set. I am NOT a believer of compatible inks, so never use them, only OEM carts.
I do sell prints on occasion but mostly print wall hangars for my office/man cave. It’s doubtful anyone that buys a print from me ever plans to keep it hanging on a wall for 100 years so that is not an issue for me either.

I printed on transfer paper using a regular-size printer, and I had no problems. I even printed on "cloth" paper. That didn't cause problems, but I wasn't pleased with the results.

Thanks Jerry, I have printed on transfer paper with an inexpensive printer in the past but have not tried with the Canon Pro 100. Don’t want to mess up the printer. Hopefully some one will respond that has done that.

Has anyone tried printing a photo on T-shirt transfer paper with the Canon Pro 100 printer? if so did you encounter any issues or problems in doing so?

Where can you get a Canon Pro for $200? The best price I've seen for this printer is $549.

I saw that I made a mistake on the price I corrected it after the fact so it’s further down this thread.I meant to type $500.00

I also go sometimes for a couple of months between printing on my nearly 6 year old Canon Pro 100 and I also bought a cover for it and keep it covered when not printing. Highly recommend you stick with Canon and I would get the Pro 200, it’s approximately $500.00 currently. Reading complaints on UHH the overwhelming majority of complaints are wit Epson printers. Many of us bought the Canon Pro 100 and are still using them with no issues especially if using OEM ink.

I use a canon pixma pro 100. I know you can’t get it any more but the reason I chimed in is the clogging jets. I have gone months without printing, but it works perfect every time. Someplace I had heard that if you keep them covered up the jets will last a whole lot longer. When I got it I immediately ordered a dust cover for it and keep it covered unless it is in use.

My issue is everytime im in the print module and click on page set up , My lightroom shuts down and sends report to lr anyone having this issue?

Thanks

I was open the phone with Adobe yesterday about this problem and they told me that this is a known issue and will be fixed with the next update.

I spent about an hour with them on this and another issue. Hopefully the next update which should come out soon will fix the problem.

I believe its an issue with a Mac only.

Luckily, Quicken sent me a notice telling me that it will renew next month. I've paid $56+ the past two years, and it would cost $59.88 this year. That's over $172 for three years. True, that's only about $0.16 a day, but I have to pay $59.88 now (plus tax?) and every year after that. I paid $59 for Quicken in 2014, and if that hadn't stopped working, I'd still be using it. Despite what Quicken says, I have seen no improvements over the past two years, at least nothing that makes any difference to me.

I'll see if I can put up with the banner on the screen. If not, I'll try Personal Capital. Funny - if I had $250,000 tucked away in an institution, Personal Capital would give me a $100 gift card. 😂

I’m still using Quicken 2015, after that the went to subscription and I just kept my old version. I get notices from Quicken every few months or so asking me to upgrade but I just trash the notices. Version 2015 keeps working on my iMac running the latest version of the OS.

I know there will be many people on here that will disagree with me, but I have had several Epson printers over the years and I will never buy another Epson. Every one of those printers gave me numerous problems each. Most were printhead clogs that caused streaks and other issues resulting in numerous cleaning cycles every couple of weeks and I only used Epson ink. I have several Canon printers now and only use Canon Ink and (knock on wood) have not had any issues at all to date. I sometimes go a few weeks between photo printing sessions and still don’t have any problems.
So for me Epson will never be in my office again.

Guys, I am planning to buy my own printer, capable of up to 13x19. I am considering the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300. Does anyone have experience with this printer, good or bad? Any recommendations on other choices? The PRO-1000 is probably too large, heavy and expensive. What about the Epson P900?

Thanks in advance.

For what it’s worth, when I read bout this subject regarding Epson Printers, I have come to this conclusion. The overwhelming majority of the problems discussed on here involve Epson printers. I have owned several Epson Printers over the past 10-15 years and each and every one of them have had print head issues. In every case I ended up trashing the printer.
I have owned a Canon Pro 100 for 6+ years and (knock on wood) have never had an issue. It is not unusual for me to not use this printer for 30-40 days at a time, and still it prints perfect prints each and every time when turned on.
Unless you look forward to posting printer issues on this forum, then I would suggest seriously looking at a Canon Printer.
