It might be an old and dumb question but the progress in quality of pics taken by new and newer iPhones renews interest in it.

I’m not going to make many friends with this but here goes. I just returned from 3 weeks in Scotland and all I took was my IPhone. Great decision on many levels. And I may add friends just returned from a two week African Safari using only a phone and their photos are beautiful. There were days we walked 5 and 6 miles up a down hills, steps, rain, mist…and any picture I wanted to take the phone camera was at the ready and I didn’t have to fiddle with anything. Okay..,that being said. During our three week journey in which we covered pretty much the entire country, I counted on less than two hands the number of people I saw with traditional cameras. This is much different than I would have seen three years ago. Truth is that the camera phones of today are pretty much all anyone other than serious hobbyists, techies or professionals need. And they are just going to get better.

If you you have an updated/fairly current smart phone, I’m not sure you already have a really good pocketable camera. Just sayin….

Thank you Ken, ELNikkor, Mike, Toment, 47greyfox, therwol! Last year was a horrible day for a marathon with high temps and humidity. Yesterday was near perfect for everyone, first-timers to those seeking the history books.

Yep. The weather was perfect. I’m a bit surprised a couple,of records weren’t broken. Your shots did the event justice! Well done.

When Alfred Sloan asked my grandfather if he wanted to invest in his automobile company, my grandfather said, nothing will replace the horse. A lesson I’ve never forgotten.

I’m probably not going to make many friends with this and maybe the topic has been broached before, but anyone have thoughts on a Cell Phone Photography section on UHH? I know there are those on this forum who take photos with cell phones and I’ve seen some beautiful work done with phones. Just a thought.

Why not teach how to focus? How to compose? If you can't do those things, who cares what exposure mode you used?

Spot on advice. Basics. That’s where you start and build from there. Can’t put the walls of a house up,without a foundation!

Curious…Is there a reason you won’t post on both sites? Seems the more eyeballs that see your ad the better chance you have selling. Why not throw it against all walls?

I offered my 80-200mm f/2.8 lens to both MPB and KEH. MPB offered $100, so I accepted the $209 offer from KEH. The check is in the mail. Looking back, I was reminded that I bought that lens from KEH in 2015.

If you're buying or selling used gear, get prices from more than one place.

Just curious…did you let MPB they weren’t even in the same ballpark? I’ve found them to be pretty competitive. But you definitely make a good point of getting multiple quotes.

Sorry to hear about your issue mgleason. So far I’ve have good luck with BH. Maybe you should give them another try down the road? As someone said in an earlier post if you keep eliminating people because of one error there won’t be anyone left to buy from! Did you try and speak with someone on management at BH?

I'm 78 now. Life expectancy in the US has dropped again, from 77 to 76.1, mainly because of Covid. I'm ahead of the curve. How are you doing?

Good for you to start this post! I’m 75 next month and celebrating with 17days in Scotland. I’ve been in physical, therapy for 3 months making sure my new knee is working properly and I take my yearly physical a week before I go to make sure all systems are go. I’ve spent the past four days trimming trees and cleaning gutters and have no aches or pains…..yet….

All in all I feel great. My father made it to 79 (bad heart) but my mother made it to 94 and her mother 95. Im the oldest of 6 and we’re all alive and healthy. People say I look like my mother. Here’s hoping!
Wishing everyone a long life surrounded by great cameras and lenses!

I got the same bag 2 weeks ago and paid 39.94. So yes the price does seem to jump around. It’s pretty nice bag especially at that price!
