I'm 78 now. Life expectancy in the US has dropped again, from 77 to 76.1, mainly because of Covid. I'm ahead of the curve. How are you doing?
'Bout to turn 75... still going...
74 and 2/3 - still plugging away (but not buying any new magazine subscriptions).

72 and plan on enjoying the next 20 years camping/traveling - my insurance actuary tables tells me that life expectancy is 86 and since insurance companies and financial investments firms base everything on payouts - IMHO, they are pretty damn accurate and conservative. My family history average is 90 - hope to beat that...

My family history ain't great. My father made it to his early 80s, but he was the exception. I'm working on living a long time. I eat a lot of ice cream and cake to keep myself happy, and I sit still watching TV so I don't wear out my body. That's good, right?

My direct ancestors for 3 generations made it to 80.5 average. I'm ahead of the game, but there were a couple of indirect ancestors that made it to 99. I have a way to go. Going to try for it.

I just turned 79. If the average is 76.1 we're now playing with house money Jerry. My mother made it to 104 and my father to 80. I hope that's an indication as to my future.
In the end it's not so much about the numbers as it is quality of life.
Eating lots of ice cream and watching lots of television tells me you've found the secret to happiness Jerry.

I was 85 on Feb. 3. I'm doing fine. If I live another 5.5 years, I will have equaled my parents' combined ages. (41 & 49)

Damn, I'm such a youngster.

I’m 76.7 so just past the average. Just had my yearly nuclear heart scan today (the treadmill is always a bi$ch), so should know how my heart is doing in a few days. You know all of the systems are going to eventually fail - the goal is to have them all fail at the same time. Considering the number of near death experiences I’ve had, it’s a source of constant amazement to me I’ve made it this long.
