I break mine down and put in checked baggage, ball head in the carry on.
Well I COULD be wrong bu when I look through the viewfinder I see that famous square box inside, I would say this is not full frame or am I mistaken.
This is a AF Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8 lens.
Made in Japan
I agree with Carlysue, no need to crop. That white acts as a leading line to your subject.
Great work.
What method did you use for b/w conversion?
Nikon 1.05 Macro 2.8 Dx No vr good shape $300
great idea using the log as a leading line, also to show depth of field, very good.
I crew and shoot these every winter in Tucson Az. everything said I agree with except the 150 to 500 lens which I have, I never use it. Wide angel at set up inside the balloon through the slots and wide angle of all the balloons inflating at the same time and at times you can have four or five balloons together that are the same likeness. Remember it is dark when you start so auto iso is imperative, and if you get to go up look for the shadows of the balloon on the ground.
If you help crew the balloons you have a chance of being invited to ride, especially if you crew several times.
It is a lot of fun, so enjoy the experience.
I took a fall in the river with mine and was sick about it. I took it to the nearest Nikon approved repair and they said it was a total loss. With that little paper I bought a new camera and lens. I am not sure this will help, for those trolls that are sure to throw rocks.
Yes, your only using 1/2 your pixels I believe. Maybe someone can can help on this.
I was in love with my D300 and moved to the D600. Even before Nikon took it back for a new shutter I really liked the D600.
I have mostly 2.8 lens now, granted the 70-300 is Sigma and my 150 to 500 is Sigma. I shopped for those Sigma even though I could afford Nikon, reason was the weight.
I really love this set up and very happy I made the move. Those that tell you to go for it I go along with.
This is KVM jumping in, I am using the Sigma 150-500 now but not getting photos like this. Can you give me some do and don'ts on using that lens, on birds mainly. I made a mistake and tried the 1.4 tele converter with it but that was a disaster.
You are a very good photographer. Can you give me some tips on how you do this? I been tripod mounted and ready and never got shots like this. Please help I have a 150 -500 sigma also 2.8 Sigma 70- 200. Do you keep your camera and high ISO and shutter priority?
Are you shooting off hand?
Thanks in advance KVM
This is KVM jumping in, I am impressed with your shots. I shot a garbage card yesterday and have been reviewing all my procedures. I useD a 1.4 converter with a sigma 150 -500, it did not work.
I was shooting in shutter priority 1/40 plus and 3200 ISO. I THOUGHT I had the shutter higher than that. Have pity and advise please, I ask the professional, Art Wolf about using the converter and he does, but I bet his is A 2.8 600 MM
Does anyone have setting like this this for the Nikon D600?
I shoot in Raw and basic jpg.
