I didn't know where to post this, but if this is wrong I know I'll hear about it.

I want to be able to record videos like those you would find on YouTube, but for my own use, not to post online. I want to be able to record my screen, as well as my voice as I describe procedures. I have been searching and Googling and coming up empty, maybe because I don't really know what I want. One "recommended" software for beginners was a $ 42-a-month subscription. I don't mind paying for software but this is something I might use a half-dozen times a year, so I'm not going to pay monthly for something I so rarely use.

This doesn't have to be brilliant professional video; I don't even know how to edit video. Just something basic I can send to my brother in an email. Basic stuff.

Get yourself a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to record, the stabilization and color are perfect for vlogging. Then get a license for ACD Video Studio or ACD Luxea Pro Video Studio for editing. Oh, and file as a business so this all is deductable.

A visit from a hawk is a rare event at my Blue Bell office, so when a juvenile sharp shinned hawk showed up last week and hung around for a while, I took a ton of photos of it. At the risk of boring you, here are eight more.

What a sharp Hawk.

Wha overpriced solar filters? A Thousand Oaks Optical 72 mm screw on solar filter is only $55, which is pretty inexpensive by photography filter standards.

A few days ago, I ordered from Amazon a few office supplies and to my surprise, a brand new Nikon Z8, which I've been thinking about for many months, arrived at my front door. Now, all of you know Amazon will take back almost anything for almost any reason except for new cameras. So, what is a person to do? The wifey not too impressed with my "story". Anyhow, any tips and tricks from you Nikon Z8 owners? I upgraded from the D850 and so far, just inputting settings. I also purchased the PDF manual from Thom Hogan.

I am looking to buy Leica SL2 and found that the price is so much different between Walmart and Adorama. Should I buy from Walmart? ( almost 50% less ). Thanks

Never trust an internet price that is substantially lower than legitimate distribution sources. Samys camera has a body only at $6,995, same as B&H. KEH has a refurb body at $4,099. Don't be fooled by low prices; you'll get grey-market products without an OEM warranty.

Get yourself a Calibrate (ex XRite) color checker.

Take one exposure of the card, and use it for white balance.

I need a longer reach when shooting events with my Fuji XT-5. The Fujifilm 90 mm f/2 is $849; it is an excellent lens but like all Fuji OEM glass, pricy. The Viltrox 85 mm f/1.8 has almost the identical reach, but saved me a lot, and the performance is identical in low light and fast moving situations.
