Any thoughts on which is the better digital processing software? Comparing the latest versions.

Since I have worked with digital image processing since the late 70's, my printing company helped develop the process, scanning 35mm slides into digital images. I still shoot some 35mm film having two Nikon F3s, one Nikon F5 and one Nikon F6. With film I usually think through what I trying to shoot rather than multiple shots and picking out a few keepers. I shoot a lot more digital images but still like to step back to film on occasion.

Thats the new price at Best Buy, Amazon etc. I am sure Sony is discontinuing the camera but that is $700 off normal retail.

Is the Sony A7 with the 28-70 Zoom kit lens a good deal at $1300?

I agree. Cannot believe the range of things the a6000 is capable of. I'm getting the 50/18 sony not the 35. I will get back to you when I get it and test it. How do I get back to this string.?

You can send a PM (personal message). The interesting thing part is that I had originally purchased the Sony 50/1.8 but I found that it was not wide enough for a "walking around lens", and returned it to then purchase the 35/1.8

Avraham, I just did order the lens. We will see. I currently use the Zeiss sonnar emount. 24/1.8 , and the Sony f 4, 18-105G OSS. Wanted to have a portrait lens with f1/8.

How do you like the Zeiss 24/1.8 lens? Let me know what you think after comparing the Zeiss lens with the Sony 35/1.8. The Zeiss should be better, but by how much is my question. The A6000 is an amazing camera with the right glass. It is like handling an old Leica rangefinder.

I too have the rx100 and the a6000. My 15 year old daughter gets great shots with the rx100. I've never used kit lenses or sony lenses on the a6000. How sharp is the Sony 35/1.8?

The answer to your question is that I find the Sony 35/1.8 very sharp. If you are interested, purchase at Best Buy, or other local retailer, that has a good return policy and try it out. I find that my sharp isn't always someone else's sharp.
What lenses are you now using on your A6000?

The RX100 III is a great camera ! The RX10 is better ! The A6000 is better yet with the right lens.

I have a Nikon D300, 2 F-3s, F-5, F-6 with many mis. Nikkor lenses. My favorite camera is the Sony A6000 with the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens which I use 90% of the time. I zoom with my feet. My wife has the Sony RX100 II which she loves and which I advised her to get after reading the reviews on this website.

I just received this message from Apple:

Dear Aperture customer,
Last June, we introduced the new Photos apps for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, along with
iCloud Photo Library, which lets you safely store all your photos in iCloud and access them
from anywhere.
When Photos for OS X launches this spring, Aperture will no longer be available for purchase
from the Mac App Store. You can continue to use Aperture on OS X Yosemite, but you will not
be able to buy additional copies of the app.
You can migrate your Aperture library to Photos for OS X, including your photos, adjustments,
albums, and keywords. After migrating, your Aperture library remains intact. However, Aperture
and Photos do not share a unified library, so any changes made after the migration will not be
shared between the apps.
To learn more about Photos for OS X, click here. If you’re interested in trying the OS X 10.10.3
Public Beta, which includes Photos for OS X, click here.
We thank you for using Aperture and hope you will enjoy the new Photos for OS X app.
Sincerely,
Apple

Remember this version of Yosemite OS and "Photos" is available only to "beta" testers.

I am also a beta tester for Apple and Photos is indeed a early "beta" release. My impression is not that favorable, a souped up iPhoto but not even close to a Aperture replacement. For anyone doing professional or serious amateur work I would stick with Adobe or migrate to Adobe.
