Any thoughts on which is the better digital processing software? Comparing the latest versions.

Similar, now that DXO is moving forward with integrating the Nik collection. But DXO is a complete enhanced worflow raw converter, and On1 isn't quite there yet. There are some growing pains they need to get into their rearview mirror, particularly when it comes to application stability, some lingering performance issues, and while I like being able to apply presets to groups of images, or copy a complete set of edits for one image and apply the set to other images, this more awkward than either DXO, Lightroom or Capture One. The On1 Raw converter and the single workspace for both raw (develop module) edits and bitmap (effects module) is cool.

To be fair, you really need to compare LR/PS, DXO/NIK and On1RAW.

BTW, no one does perspective correction, volume anamorphosis, or noise reduction while retaining image information as well as DXO. In my case I actually use all of the above, depending on what I think each software product can do for a specific image.

If I had to make a choice between ON1 Raw and DXO/NIK today, I'd probably go with DXO, but may have to eat my words with the 2019.3 release of On1. All of the raw releases of On1 have managed to crash my computer - something that just doesn't happen with the other titles.

I've got an i7 quad core, Nvidia Quadro Graphics with 4 gb vram, 1 TB SSD for system drive, and an 8 TB RAID level 0+1 for storage. The only program that routinely makes me reboot my computer is On1. I like the direction and speed that the company's development goals are moving in, but at the moment it's primary purpose is as a plugin to LR and PS.
