Yes, another printer problem. I wanted to print a page, so I pressed Ctrl-P, selected the Epson, and hit Enter.

On the printer LCD: "Canceling." Then it made some printer noises and displayed, "Canceled." This happened three times. I turned it off and on and tried again. "Printing." It pushed out a blank page and displayed "Canceled." I had to laugh.

Fortunately, I happen to have a pen, so I'll have to go old school.

By the way, "Canceled" is one of those words that can be spelled two ways, "canceled," or "cancelled."

EDITED: Wow! This guy is persistent! My Epson printer has been "cancelling" a print for over 14 hours now. What can I do to make it stop so I can print other things again?

Why didn't they run an air hose to it and blow the water out?

I mentioned last month that I had to replace the pressure tank for my well. That worked out okay. The problem now is getting the old tank out of the house. Using rough measurements, I figure it has a volume of about 24 cu ft. It is lying on its side, and the water level is a bit above the half-way point. That would be about 13 cu ft of water @ 62 lb/cu ft = 804 lbs. That's why it is still in the hall a month later.

I removed the pipes, and I thought I could syphon the water out, but the hose can't make that 90° turn to get into the tank. My next plan is to raise the top of the tank (somehow) bit-by-bit and catch the water as it runs out. I also thought about drilling a hole in the side of the tank to drain the water. When I've seen people on YouTube with this problem - it is a problem! Actually, I'm surprised that my son and I were able to get it out of the closet.

Get a small refillable oil applicator and fill it with Mobil One oil. Use that. Will not dry out or attract dirt. Can be used in ant temperature.

Have any of you had stainless steel chimney liners installed? My chimney is about fifty years old, and it seems to be in good shape, but I like the idea of a stainless liner. Any comments?

I had a stainless steel chimney liner installed in Massachusetts after a neighbor had a creosote chimney fire and Ifound I had creosote build up in mine. I used a wood stove to heat my house for many years. The stove converted to coal burning which I continued to use. I never had to worry about creosote build up because it burned off the stainless but built up on the brick.

A local woman posted that both her car and her husband's were broken into last night, and things were stolen from them. They have automatic lights, cameras, and three barking dogs. That didn't deter the thieves. When you think of the expense of a set of security cameras and lights, are they really worth it?

I've thought about installing lights and cameras, as my neighbor has done, but that would cost $500 or more, and they don't guarantee security. What you really need is what's seen in movies - automatic weapons that spray the area with bullets.

Make the sign small enough so for someone to get close enough to read it and turn on the faucet they are trespassing. They will be breaking the law whether they are your neighbor or a city employee.
