Am I in any trouble if I post a warning sign.
The neighbor tends to use my water faucet to water her lawn. What happened if I put a warning sign on the faucet saying something like "DANGER! Do not use. May cause serious injury or death!". Am I in any kind of trouble for doing so?

Turn it off on the inside of the house?

Ask her out for a coffee and see how it goes from there.
That lawn she is watering might be yours someday.

Not that. No interest in that

There is no shut off only for that faucet. I can turn the water off for the whole house but I don't want to do that. I can put a lock out lock on but I am just wondering if I run into some kind of legal trouble for posting the sign?
Have you talked with her? You shouldn't have to worry about someone pilfering your water, but I'm not sure that posting a snarky sign is the answer. We have so much contention between folks in this country, it would be good if you could resolve this issue with your neighbor without going into battle.
It's your property (trespassing) and your water that she is stealing (theft).
It depends on how big of a deal you want to make of it.
Take a picture of her attaching her hose and another dragging said hose to her property, send her copies and see if she gets the hint.

I don't care if she is still doing it. I just wonder about the law on my posting the sign. I don't care to catch her in action. Can the city makes me take the sign down?

Sounds like theft, water = money, taking it without your permission is theft. Send her a bill or tell her to keep her lizard skinners off the water faucet. That doesn't work file charges.
Still wouldn’t hurt to talk to her face to face.

Unlikely but a lot would depend on your local ordinances.
Is this well water? Does she not have a well?
Living with neighbors is complicated, I've had neighbors I couldn't stand and ones that were delightful to work with.
We had one with two big dogs who would jump over the 4 foot fence to poop in our yard, then jump back over to their side. They did it with the neighbors on the other side, too.
My current neighbor to the east came out to help me clear away the brush around my AC units last fall, so I made him a batch of cinnamon rolls as a thank you.
Seriously? Do you wish to stop her from using your water? Then be direct, but polite, and tell her it is not okay to use your water. If you don't want confrontation, then suck it up and worry about more important things in your life.
