MtnMan, Buddy, you are welcome. I too am subscribing.

I'm thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to start a new post including the link so that maybe more people would see it?

Absolutely.
My son posted the following link on facebook, it is long I only got to watch about 25 minutes but it worth watching.

Reading your story with tears in my eyes took me back to the day when I too had to put my beloved confident down. It was the worst day of my life having to say goodbye to a trusted beautiful friend. It was almost the same scenerio as yours in our trip to the vet. I have yet to get another dog which is probably why it hurts so much.

Dear Lilac,
As I wrote that post, I could not see the keyboard at times. The pain/heartache is as real today as it was 18 years ago. I wrote that on my desktop computer and my family was in the other room, to which I was glad, as I didn't my wife/daughter/grandkids see me with my face all wet.
Our new pup is a kook and I am soaking up the goofy things she does to get my/our attention. On my days off I walk her across the street to our village park and throw her toy. She will bring it back to me, but first she likes to run past me so I can swat at her butt. Then she'll come back wanting me to throw again. It has been in the teens (5:00am) when we go out. I like the fact we go early as the park is empty and she can do whatever she wants to do.

Like you I swore I would never own another dog after have to having to have my last one put down. Well, I lied. After my wife passed away this house got very lonely so I got a chocklate Lab from the shelter in town. It was one of the best thing I ever did! She is extreemly lovable and a great companion!

Hi Jim,

After my Stem Cell Transplant, I started writing things that my heart felt. I wrote this primarily for my wife.

Have you seen…

Have you seen some of the things I have?…
Have you seen some of the things I did?…
Have you seen some of my friends leave too soon?…
Have you seen some of my life slipping away?…

Did you know that I always thought life was to be better?…
Did you know that I always thought my friends would never leave?…
Did you know that I always thought I would grow old?…
Did you know that I always thought my place was here?…

Have you lain awake at night, thinking you would do better?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking tonight was your last?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking who would really miss you?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking you would do better?…

Did you know that I always thought you were my best friend?…
Did you know that I always knew of your tears?…
Did you know that I always heard the cries of your heart?…
Did you know that I always needed you?…

Have you seen some of things I have?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of the things I did?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of my friend’s leave too soon?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of my life slipping away?…You said, “A piece of my life is also lost”…

Did you know that I always tried to do my best?…
Did you know that I always tried to give you my best?...
Did you know that I have not regretted my Life?…
Did you know that I have no regrets because of you?…You said “Yes”…

When the time comes…
Please do not cry…

I like rock and roll…
I like goofy…stupid…humor…

I like my friends…
I like being with you…
I like who my kids turned out to be…

I have to believe that my life was enjoyed as much as a person can…
I have to believe that my life will continue…Maybe not here…
I have to believe that my life will be shared with yours once again…

Forever your,
BuddyLars

28 years ago I bought a German Shepard for my young family. This pup turned into a family member who gave us more love and joy than we gave her, and we gave her allot. At 10 years old her hips got so bad I had to put her down. That day was one of those "I feel great days" for her. I took her to the park with her tennis ball. She chased the ball as though she was not in pain. I knew what was coming but she did not. I laughed with her when she would bring the ball to me. She was in Heaven playing this little game. We walked to the Veterinary as it was close to our park. I went in to get her a bowl of water and when I came back out she sat there, very still and proud. I set the bowl down for her to drink and as she was drinking I petted her telling her how much I loved her and how much of a good dog she is. When she finished we walked into the office waiting room and sat down. The assistant call for "Teela" and her ears perked and we went into the examining room. She loved this Dr. He petted her and talked softly to her as he slipped in the needle. I have tears streaming down my face as I try to cradle her the best I could. The first shot slowly put her to a deep sleep, the second one ended her life. I held her for a few minutes, trying not to cry more than I was.
I vowed to never get another dog, as this procedure would happen again.
Well nine months ago we got another female German Shepard, her name is "Cinna" and a few times I would call her Teela as Cinna looks and acts like Teela. For extra heat in our home I cut and split wood. Tella would always carry a piece of firewood into our home when I would go out and bring in a arm load. Cinna does the same thing.
I am glad I broke my promise not to get another dog.

Why does anyone need an assault rifle. a sportsman doesn't hunt dear with an assault rifle.

Definition

The term assault rifle is a translation of the German word Sturmgewehr (literally "storm rifle", as in "to storm a position"). The name was coined by Adolf Hitler[3] as a new name for the Maschinenpistole 43,[nb 1] subsequently known as the Sturmgewehr 44, the firearm generally considered the first assault rifle that served to popularise the concept and form the basis for today's modern assault rifles.

The translation assault rifle gradually became the common term for similar firearms sharing the same technical definition as the StG 44. In a strict definition, a firearm must have at least the following characteristics to be considered an assault rifle:[4][5][6]

It must be an individual weapon with provision to fire from the shoulder (i.e. a buttstock);
It must be capable of selective fire;
It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle;
Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable magazine rather than a feed-belt.
And it should at least have a firing range of 300 meters (1000 feet)

Rifles that meet most of these criteria, but not all, are technically not assault rifles despite frequently being considered as such. For example, semi-automatic-only rifles like the AR-15 (which the M16 rifle is based on) that share designs with assault rifles are not assault rifles, as they are not capable of switching to automatic fire and thus are not selective fire capable. Belt-fed weapons or rifles with fixed magazines are likewise not assault rifles because they do not have detachable box magazines.

The term "assault rifle" is often more loosely used for commercial or political reasons to include other types of arms, particularly arms that fall under a strict definition of the battle rifle, or semi-automatic variant of military rifles such as AR-15s.

The US Army defines assault rifles as "short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachinegun and rifle cartridges."[7]

Try to decline working so much overtime, this will be hard as I am a work alcoholic. I have in the past gone into work on the week-end for free (get things squared away).
