Have you seen?

After my Stem Cell Transplant, I started writing things that my heart felt. I wrote this primarily for my wife.

Have you seen…

Have you seen some of the things I have?…
Have you seen some of the things I did?…
Have you seen some of my friends leave too soon?…
Have you seen some of my life slipping away?…

Did you know that I always thought life was to be better?…
Did you know that I always thought my friends would never leave?…
Did you know that I always thought I would grow old?…
Did you know that I always thought my place was here?…

Have you lain awake at night, thinking you would do better?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking tonight was your last?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking who would really miss you?…
Have you lain awake at night, thinking you would do better?…

Did you know that I always thought you were my best friend?…
Did you know that I always knew of your tears?…
Did you know that I always heard the cries of your heart?…
Did you know that I always needed you?…

Have you seen some of things I have?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of the things I did?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of my friend’s leave too soon?…You said “Yes”…
Have you seen some of my life slipping away?…You said, “A piece of my life is also lost”…

Did you know that I always tried to do my best?…
Did you know that I always tried to give you my best?...
Did you know that I have not regretted my Life?…
Did you know that I have no regrets because of you?…You said “Yes”…

When the time comes…
Please do not cry…

I like rock and roll…
I like goofy…stupid…humor…

I like my friends…
I like being with you…
I like who my kids turned out to be…

I have to believe that my life was enjoyed as much as a person can…
I have to believe that my life will continue…Maybe not here…
I have to believe that my life will be shared with yours once again…

Forever your,
BuddyLars

BuddyLars, my next-yard neighbor had a stem cell transplant almost a year ago. She is doing great.

A very thoughtful writing. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Anna,
My insurance declined approval for my transplant in 1997 as at that time it was considered experimental. I appealed and talked to the person in charge and told him, "It may be experimental, but I am willing to guinea pig myself" It got approved a week later. Multiple Myeloma is somewhat of a rare cancer so to find another myeloma patient locally was near impossible. 10 years later my neighbor went to Chicago for cancer treatment, when he came home I went over to to chew the fat and it turned out he had Multiple Myeloma. He passed away 2 years later. I liked Ray even though he was kooky. He build many sheds and filled them with treasures from auctions. I guess today we call a person like that a hoarder.

Hi Brian,
Sorry to hear about your battle.
Multiple Myeloma is incurable and relapse is inevitable, but it hasn't hit me yet. I tell God almost every night that "if tonight is the night for me to leave, I'm ready, but if I wake up, I'm going to work."
I have written a few other things that I may post later.
Thanks for posting,
Lars
