G.W. Bush started an illegal war with Iraq - a fact. WMD was not found - a fact, so Bush/Cheney deserve every bit of the anger and wrath they receive. Before Bush, WMD was defined as nuclear weapons, not chemical, biological, etc. The US provided Saddam Hussein chemical weapons and Rumsfeld was the US representative who met with Saddam with the okay.

The largest plane is the C-17, not the C-5.

Satellite imagery does not accomplish everything we need. The SR-71 gave the US the capability to be "high & hot" over hostile territory and "catch them by surprise" which gave us the capability no other country could match. Very effective

It seems like you have turned a reasonable question into one that is meant to be "political" and I find that personally offensive, petty and disgusting. National security, clearances, and related regulations are complex and legally a nightmare for lawyers. So please peddle your trash to someone who give a s__t.

There are so many parameters involving granting a security clearance, revoking, or denying a clearance it would be impossible to answer a generalized question such as yours.
I will say, if a person is being investigated for mishandling classified and doesn't already possess a clearance, the chances are no.

What is the title and publication date. He has written so many books.

On Friday I received this book that I had pre-ordered from Amazon back in mid December. I have been using PSE 10 until 14 came out in late November.

The book is about 356 printed pages and measures 10" high x 8" wide x 3/4" thick; I don't have a scale to weigh it, but I'd guess it is in the 3 lb. range. I haven't had time to review more than the first two chapters. The First is on the Organizer and how to use it, but since I gave up on the PSE Organizer several years ago after it scrambled my 'Catalog', I didn't delve too deeply into it. That said the Chapter is well organized and understandable.

The Second Chapter is about using RAW and how to work PP within RAW. It's very well done, understandable and gives Scott's work flow procedure. It also explains why he uses the tools in that particular order.

So far, and I'm just getting into the book, my main criticism would be that the print size is too small to make it easy to read in anything but good light. During the day and by a window, it is readable, but at night even at my desk which is well lighted, I have to use a 50-100-250 watt bulb at the 250 watt setting. (I know we are not supposed to use incandescent lamps over 75 watt any longer, but I purchased a bunch before they were banned )

Throughout the book he shows screen shots of the menus for the tools and refers to them; unfortunately the print on the screen shot is way too small to read; I keep a magnifying glass handy to read them.

It dam sure won't be the host team SF 49ers. A Pop Warner team could beat them. ("A message from the host city, the SF 49 Whiners")

Ok, sound good. Enjoyed the dialogue.

I was only referring to the executive order because I believe it sets the standards for classifying/declassifying and handling classified material.

There is a certain disconnect in that the rules and penalties for violations are left to the discretion of congress, whatever that means, I guess. I'm just a layman!

I don't want to beat this to death, it just seems like a lot of grey areas. :-)

CFR Title 10.

Well most DOE regulation on classified were enacted by statute not Executive Order and the penalties could be more severe.

Not funny as I remember! I was DOE at the time and the boys in Syracuse, NY, would visit and clarify any questions or perceptions you might have.

toma1940,

I realize the Wiki reference is just a cursory selection. I wanted at least a few not to jump to conclusions that a leak of classified material, besides being common, is vague and not necessarily a hanging offense.

Got a few years in the nuclear area, so I'm a little familiar with CFR's.

I believe President Truman began to shape the terms "loyalty" and "trustworthy" for background investigations of potential government employees and that help shape determine the investigative process still in use today. The "1940" is YOB
DaveO wrote:
So, a little tweaking in certain areas. You would think that there would be a standing "law" defining the various sections and a little more definition and explicit penalties.

I don't know about what "1940" means, but that's around the time the presidents theoretically took control of the formal establishment of classified guidelines, is it not?
